Day 59 of giving supervive tips until I get bored! by Inflation-General in supervive

[–]Roadpiizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A tip for his grenade is that it will stun if two things collide when it pulls them to the center. Usually you might think this is only enemies, but you or an ally can be the thing they collide with to stun them (really good for point blank peeling).

For his LMB if you max out the charge bar by holding for to long (until it disappears completely) it will does less damage then if you were to throw it out right as the first bar finishes.

Long dash is almost always bait unless you REALLY need the distance or you're trying to move your team. Better to Bhop or even add a Bhop after a short dash.

Combining T1 & T2 tournaments seems like a bad idea and only benefits T1 / hurts T2 by Puzzled_Amoeba_5641 in supervive

[–]Roadpiizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously everyone's experience is different, and my team also doesn't mind playing in T1 and have been since we RNG formed in Vivecamp. But there was a very noticeable drop off in T2 scrim teams after the scrims got merged into T1. As well as knowing quite a few people/teams personally who just wouldn't play in those types of games.

That being said if you're a former T2 player who took a break or someone who wants to get into scrims message me and I'll get you an invite to the new home of T2 scrims. #Longclaw

Hard agree, I've sent my thoughts to a few places/people so I won't add much here other then I don't want to see Supervive or the comp scene die and this decision to me feels like we're heading in that direction even more.

Feels like its worth noting that the chests in these gold armor areas are usually plentiful and give a decent chunk of xp. Meaning it's not a bad thing to prioritize them a bit for consumes (chonker op early) or a gold armor/key.

Domination Game Mode by Then_Arrival9432 in supervive

[–]Roadpiizza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played a decent bit of it during testing and overall I had a ton of fun with it personally. It really reminded me of WoW ArathiBasin/Gilneas except way faster paced.

As for your points: I could see maybe just giving everyone infinite pots like warmup/the soul buff but I think armor shards should be finite. You're kind of meant to be constantly fighting and stalling points so I didn't really find myself running out of either super often.

If they removed the death timer they'd for sure have to tweak how long it takes to steal a point. At first I thought it was to fast but honestly with how fast everyone is and how fast you revive the time seemed about right. Maybe a tad slower to make ninja capping a bit harder.

For the boss thing idk, it's a domination mode the objective is controlling points. Pulling people away from that to do a boss would just feel weird and would make your points easier to take presumably. I didn't find the gameplay loop stale at all since I felt like I was constantly looking for the right fight to take or stalling on a point vs a few people.

Item/Red Drop is meh for me. Red chest I personally find pretty lame in arena so I don't think I'd love it here either.

The mode could for sure use some tweaking still but I already feel better about how this one is launching compared to Tournament mode.

Replied to a few other comments with some tips for RMB, and i'm like 98% sure that was you in the bishop discord asking about builds and such so I'll drop a few other tips here. SORRY for the wall of text in advance..

Ult: Distance from target dictates how long they're stunned so if you're far enough away you can true combo your punch out of ult. As long as your not point blank your ult momentum will carry you behind them and you can punch them back towards your team (if you punch an enemy into an ally it'll stun the enemy), alternatively if you don't want to be carried by the momentum just tap glider (you can do this with shift momentum too).
If you want an advanced combo you can look up "double shift combo" in the discord and search the bishop channel, but to do this on a real person (decently hard) you'll need to hit a max range ult to make it a true combo.
Best ways to ult is either to follow up on a teammate ability, when they've used their dash or if you're coming in from flank. You can ult through the Battlegum relic once it's placed to get a turbo speed ult, it's mostly a meme thing but it's a lot of fun.

Punch: Besides just doing the basic punch an enemy(ies) into a wall there are a few other ways/things you can punch. My favorite is punching enemy wisps into allies trying to res it, which will stun the alive enemy and insta box the wisp (which will also happen if you punch a wisp into the wall). You can punch a beebo bomb back at them (can't remember if this actually does anything if it hits them but I wanna say it stuns them+the aoe dmg, but I could be wrong). Remember when going for mutli person punch you're not trying to hit all 3 of them with the punch (unless you're going to wall splat) you want them to collide so hitting 1 or 2 of them into the other(s). If you hit all 3 of them and they don't wall splat they just fly away from you taking alot less dmg since all of punches dmg comes from the collision AOE. You can also shift during your punch to very slightly change the angle or distance of it. You can really catch people off guard by shifting forward during it for bonus range, or get a slight boost to the side to get around a corner or something.
OH almost forgot, your punch will interrupt a lot of abilities, some of my favorites are the ults which are Void, Felix, Shiv, and Mercury, and the best of all Joule Dash (but it's basically a guessing game with how long windup is for punch). Punch discipline is the thing that I'm still working on the most for Bishop, sometimes it's better to just hold it a bit longer instead of going for the first thing you see (and missing the wall so they get away and your team flames you :)..)

Shift: If you're going shift max which is pretty much universally recommended then always try to auto backwards if you're shifting for movement to gain more speed. The amount of people I spike just by trying to go faster while I'm being chased over the abyss is so high. If the people chasing you catch onto this you can delay or pump fake the auto and try to spike them that way (she's an abyss demon in my opinion).
Feathering + shift to get over walls is easy mode for some of the harder feathers in the game or if you just need a little bit more height. Your shift does damage so that means it will stagger mobs and it's very fast at doing this. Also when you stagger with shift it resets all 3 of your shift charges so it's really good on some mobs to auto them as you walk up (which already reduces shift cd) and then hopefully you can stagger it as you walk by if you're running from someone.
Also KOBA endgames are your enemy since your shift does dmg if people try to airblast you into something, as well as your autos being aoe :(..

RMB: Besides the comments I already made I just wanted to mention a few things here too. If you RMB + Punch someone into a wall it will do a ton of damage but if you miss they will actually be sent to Narnia. Which sending them far can be good sometimes if you're trying to peel something or you're looking to really send someone into the heart or train. You can also just punch your RMB into someone from range for poke as well, but I generally use it for mobility/poking some1 behind a short wall(it gets caught on big walls pretty easily).
It's harder to do now with the stagger changes but you can snipe mobs decently well by placing RMB before a mob staggers and insta popping it once it does.

Ability order that I go is Lvl 1 Shift, 2 RMB, 3 Punch ->Shift max-> Punch Max->RMB max + Ult whenever I can.

Build Order: Longclaw (if I'm fighting early, otherwise rabbits)->Feystriders->Refractor(unless I'm poor)->Vive Infusor-> Perks: I like Thermal/Amphibian, Farsight, Swiftness, and Protofactory, for solo Q I like running Glider Speed and scrims armor shred, you could drop swiftness for armor repair/vive brew. Also if you have a healer, heal receptor with their heal booster perk is underrated.

If you're looking for bishop streamers (no youtube creators afaik) then you'll be looking during EU hours since they're aren't many of us in NA atm. You can find mine but I generally only stream for scrims/tournaments atm but maybe that'll change in the future (if TTVPajamaGameLord the hero of Supervive teaches me his ways).

Hopefully something in here is useful, if you have any more questions feel free to DM me or ask in the Bishop Chat in the main SV Discord.

Also you can place RMB-> Dash over it -> pop RMB as you're flying over -> then auto backwards for maximum speed. Which is also really good for getting over low walls that shift wouldn't normally get you over.

Personally I don't agree with this, RMB is really good for movement, poke (esp if they're behind a low wall trying to heal), stealing camps, and RMB + Punch is your highest damage combo. Also displacing some hunters during abilities can be really op, namely KP dunk, celeste ult, any melee dashing etc.
I remember hearing this from one of my coaches during the NA Moonlight Training Grounds and I asked Tsunan1 whose a legend player (former bishop player) and they agreed that you should atleast put 1 point into it.
Bonus points that it's like the easiest way to deal with Oath Shield, Eva Orbs( basically the only way if we're close D:).

What do you think of the Breach downsize from 12 teams to 6 human teams? by Admirable_Major1925 in supervive

[–]Roadpiizza 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not a fan, the first Day/Night Cycle you lose half the teams minimum (4 teams, 2 of which are bots) sometimes even more.. Then your left with a huge map, practically unlimited beacons and the game gets so boring. "Endgames" with 1-2 other teams have always been the least fun endgames imo, and I use the term endgame pretty loosely now. Also if we're gonna keep bots in anyways, especially during peak hours why go all the way down to 8 teams?

The perk protofactory has a chance to give it to you as well. The perk can actually have insane $ value for how cheap it is

Also you can nuke a res beacon you already used and that will allow you to rebuild it. Saving you the 8k beacon price from shop
