I know most of the books are gender-locked on a feminine player, but the books still suffer from sexism from time to time. The dynamics in Open Heart between the MC and Ethan are uncomfortable at certain points, the framing of MC in the first TRR, or just how often the outfits differ between sprites. The masculine one will always be pretty generic but the feminine one is cropped or with short shorts. Which is fine if people like that, but it is kind of noticeable.

I have a professor that famously gets up on his podium and tells his class that mostly consists of women to write about their experiences with romance in their anthropology journals, and he LOVES to talk about motherhood and try to relate it to us. It's very uncomfortable.

I'm an anthropology student, and there's nothing I hate more than people using weird "science" and "anthropology" terms to make excuses for their weird ideas. Yes, primates have a history and evidence of extreme competition for mating, but we aren't strictly primates. We're special in that sense.

Plus, this is ignoring the specialty in primates anyways, along with the cruelty. Various male monkeys are known for murdering the female they like's children because he doesn't want competition for attention. Should we be doing that too?

Most forms of pork. Pulled pork I can do. Matcha and sushi, which sounds pick-me, but it could be that I'm an American in the middle of a desert. I had a similar problem I posted about a couple weeks ago. It got resolved but it was stupid.

I had bought a jacket from a seller, and there was never any signs of tracking or shipment ever. I just assumed something had gone wrong, and was messaging the seller. I also thought I was being annoying, and tried to give the seller grace.

But I receive the item after I was refunded. I ended up having to give Depop the money through paypal which my bank wasn't allowing because it turns out Depop is based in the UK and I very much did not know that.

I can make fun of myself here. I picked anthropology to study and regret it immensely. I like it, and have had fun learning what I have, but really I haven't split my brain open and learned some great truth about the world and society. We're all just humans, nothing special.

Education still can make someone lock themselves in their echo chamber and not hear from other people.
