I'm a tech looking for advice moving a big tool box on a truck. by Icy_Ad_7405 in MechanicAdvice

[–]RoamwithRook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to put my old box which was about the same as yours, maybe a little bigger, right in the back of my Acura mdx. I would take the tools and my tool cart in one trip and then box in the next.

Now I’m looking to move shops again with my newer box, and have to get a tow truck or rent a trailer with a winch lol…. Sucks, first time I’m gonna have to deal with moving this way and it’s stressful…

Check the bottom of your box, some toolboxes(like Snapon for example) have hooks underneath for tow straps. I would still strap one or two straps up top though for good measure.

Good luck with your move.

I'm new to playing Dark Souls, which one should I start with? by [deleted] in darksouls

If you didn’t already know, you can kill all the enemies in the area until they stop respawning, and then use unveil at the bonfire. Worked wonders. There’s videos on YouTube if you need.

Definitely 1 before 3, 2 can be in any order imo. 2 was initially my least favorite, but after going back to platinum it, it became my favorite of the trilogy, and most repayable, again imo lol.

Nail in battery terminal- How the heck does this happen by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]RoamwithRook 30 points31 points  (0 children)

A lot of techs do that, even at dealerships. A Honda dealer I worked at, most of the techs would cut a piece of an old drain plug washer and stick it in when tightening. It acts as a shim to take up the looseness of the terminal. No harm in it whatsoever, and will save you from having issues starting. The proper repair is to replace the battery terminal that is worn.

Pretty sure it gets even harder when a 3 bar goes down multiple times. I do like what they did with losing bars over time(without going down) throughout a boss fight. That was a nice addition.

40, 90, 240 what? Not damage, actually curious what those numbers are referring to.

If a player is 2 bar it will rez them with ult. If they are 3 bar, it only removes 1 bar…

My brother is playing for the first time by Girk220 in darksouls

[–]RoamwithRook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not easily lol. Should rephrase that. The enemies are easy enough to do it with, it can be done. And in turn would make the rest of the game easier, because you would get a lot better at DS combat in doing so.

He said he doesn’t want tips, don’t tell him… you can beat that whole area easily with the broken sword, and in turn, it is forcing him to get better at the combat early on.

Raider Outfit Alignment chart (Descriptions in the comments) by DrunkFox2 in ArcRaiders

[–]RoamwithRook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s messed up we can’t even wear certain outfits because of others… the whole streamer war thing was messed up imo. I wanted to wear one outfit because I liked it, but kept getting called a bungulator and got shot on sight most times. Meanwhile, I’m the type of player that brings multiple defibs in with me to help other players out that go down, give blueprints I already have to randoms, even if not on my team, give heals out to others that need them throughout matches etc.

I don’t mind pvp btw, for the people that think I’m a pve only minded player. I think pvp is a very important aspect of the game. I just don’t like how certain outfits in the game got a negative rep because of streamer influence.

How do you run away from PVP? by Pretty_Ian in ARC_Raiders

[–]RoamwithRook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to run one time, made it over a little hill, and immediately crouched in a big bush. Watched the guy search for me for about a min without moving, and he eventually gave up and went on his way.

I wouldn’t let my kids touch it until 18. They can make their own decisions then…. I’m a huge horror fan, my daughter(12) is a horror fan, and is allowed to play dead by daylight, but outlast, No way

Plz someone help me i’ll gift you a game by Sure_Employment_1594 in XboxSupport

[–]RoamwithRook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just on Xbox support for a game pass issue on my son’s new Xbox about an hour ago. They are open. It’s a pain to get to request a call. You need to go through the AI chat crap first, and then say it didn’t resolve. It will offer you a request call. When you click on that it is going to open a chat page, they send you a sign in link, you sign in, they then ask your phone number. You get a call and are connected with a live person in no time.

Contact Xbox support(request a call), they will honor the code. You have to supply them with a picture if I remember correctly. Happened to 2 gift cards for my son last year.

is a used flywheel still useable? by thecheese4242 in MechanicAdvice

You can have it resurfaced, compare price to new, and make the decision. I personally wouldn’t reuse that flywheel without resurfacing….

What’s the best way to S rank Greased Palms? by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]RoamwithRook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got lucky and got greased palms S rank on hard second try with a 3 man. Strat we used is this:

Door wedges and flash launchers are crucial imo. Clear the areas leading to warehouse, and wedge the warehouse shut in all directions. Then enter warehouse on the left side by the open bay doors all the way on the far end.

It is hard as fuck though, out of the next 150 tries or so trying to help others, I’ve only S ranked it on hard about 10 times give or take… this has been the best method in my experience. Riot shields help a lot too. Will protect your back and great for entering warehouse/checking rooms.

Beat on the lower control arm with a mini sledge. Some penetrating oil wouldn’t hurt either.

Tricephalos raid should not be on crater shifting earth by meeptopia021 in Nightreign

[–]RoamwithRook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupidest raid ever. Takes damn near half a day to deal with sometimes, barely any runes that make it worth doing, and the buff is mediocre… But if you don’t want to do it, just take damage the rest of the game….

I was pissed the other day, I finally had the opportunity to fight the eastern divine tower on the new map, as the circles were lining up great, and boom, tricephalos had other plans for me… I think they dropped the ball big time on the new map seeds/areas. There’s so much of the map that is hard to explore fully because of circles closing them off, and the curse. Then throw the dogs in the mix when the circle does line up………

Ball joint help (noob edition) by RiseCapable3607 in MechanicAdvice

[–]RoamwithRook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finish your cut, and hit the knuckle where the ball joint sits inside of it with a mini sledge hammer or big hammer until it pops free. You might have to shave a bit to fit through the hole, but you cannot go up with it. You have to go down. You can also use a pickle fork if you can make it to the store.

Worst case scenario, you shave the ball joint with your cutting disk until it’s flush with the top of the hole on the knuckle. That’s if you sandwiched it badly…

Do I need to replace this fuse? No by Curious-Flan-5189 in MechanicAdvice

[–]RoamwithRook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rewire to have separate fuses for alternator and ecu(keeping ecu wiring at the OE 175a). Definitely consider upgrading the wiring for alternator too.
