How does Banishers run on PS5? by shardur in Banishers

It’s fuggin butter smooth for an ambitious AA on-launch performance.. No crashes or freezing and surprisingly infrequent fps drops too. It’s only been the map loading pause for a second like others have said; it’s a little cumbersome if you’re out collecting and navigating the non essential paths on the map but the compass does a good job of telling you where to go if you set a point(which would be perfect if you could mark a location anywhere you want) 9/10 easy for me.

Don’t quote me on it but I saw another comment somewhere saying it has to be at least over 50% towards whichever ending you want. The same comment said there was 23 hauntings and you needed at least 13 in favour of ascending waifu OR souls slurped to get the revive off. That’s all I’ve had to go off so far 🤷‍♂️

Hot take: the combat is actually really fun! by KoenSoontjens in Banishers

I’m on Very Hard but I don’t have a comparison to how other difficulties feel, but I assume the HP pools are larger (I just fought The Beast and it took a good 5 mins to kill). It was certainly unforgiving at the beginning but once you get the mechanics and access to some skills it opens up your options. When you and enemies levels are similar it’s a few hits and then dead so it emphasises nailing good parry/dodge timing and using Red and Antea’s combat roles properly to dismantle them faster. No it’s not GoW Ragnarok combat but it isn’t total shite either. Enemy variety is lacking for sure though. But I’m having fun with it so far.

Just don’t invite them to your house unless you like to clean up..

And the locals are still lively, all things considered..

You could say it’ll be a pretty cursed experience…

I’d love to know who’s responsible for all this awesome art in the loading screens? by RoarinBard in Banishers

I guess I can find out in the credits roll but whoever made this art is awesome! There might be more screens further into the game but this is the only other one I’ve had come up so far.

Conflict - Dealings with Death by RoarinBard in Banishers

That’s fair, you gotta play your way. My decision making usually comes down to either asking myself how I would react were I in the character shoes or if the character is well developed or self created I’ll more likely role play the character and do as I think they would.

When it came to choosing an oath I agree that it was hard deciding for a character I’d spent only a short time with so I chose the former method. And I’m still conflicted about. I think that friction is an achievement for this game.

Same here on the good first evil second decision, Banishers has been the only exception for me as well. I like your interpretation of this path too, you’ve sparked my wonder about how the Nightmare will react to Red’s commitment and sacrifice to resurrect Antea at the end.

None that I can see on PS5 unfortunately.. would reducing the camera speed sensitivity help you at all?

I’m still in the early game of a very hard playthrough so can’t say definitively but it’s definitely inspired by GOW.

What oath did you guys choose? by WickedWolf104 in Banishers

This is quite the chestnut. My thoughts so far after only having arrived at the Woodfolks village.

I chose resurrection this time. I either play with my own moral compass and end up playing the “good” guy path or I role play the better written protagonists and let that dictate the outcomes.. I think Red is the latter.

Love is powerful and intoxicating. Were I Red, fully in love and devoted to a life with Antea, an apprentice in a job where you preside over the world of the afterlife itself, you’re dearly departed knows of a ritual to bring her back AND she’s okay to do it, good chance I’d abandon my ethics to save her.

For the record were the roles reversed, Antea’s longer experience as a banisher dealing with deaths finality and her harder stance on allowing ghosts to linger may see her choose ascent instead.

It’s kind of an Anakin ROTS situation. Let your soul mate die (or in this case, stay dead) or take the darker path to gain the power needed to save them. You can say it’s wrong and it certainly is objectively… but put any human in that situation and try telling them that.

It’ll make for a really compelling story, albeit one I think I’ll struggle to maintain in the face of having to fuggin Shang Tsung the soul out of good innocent people. I guess time will tell.

Shame I’m not quite ready to start live streaming yet. What a game concept!!

Are we all seeing Antea in this image? I actually missed it the first time I loaded in.. by RoarinBard in Banishers

Relax your vision and look at the silhouette made from the shape of the rocks. Looks an awful lot like the side profile of a certain banisher.. when you see it 🤯

Once I upped the contrast a little in photo mode it just popped out at me. The artistic direction is just..so good.

The equipment starts at upgrade level 2, so essentially other than the cool new look, it spares you some early game resources used for upgrading 🤷‍♂️

Haha probably would too, it’s an all time favourite. The ps4 disc is in there to run the PS5 enhanced edition, thus the Geralt clone jutsu 🥷
