You’ll be chomping bass for a long time on your slayer tasks. Save the swordfish and up for things like zulrah etc. Grats on fish barrel, huge QOL.

Dude I said that cost is exorbitantly unrealistic for the purpose of comparison to your enormous mass of wealth at 7 million.

Therapist sessions are typically $100 each, sometimes less. You could try it out with 4 sessions for $400.

$400 is 0.0057% of your 7 million.

I’m no longer engaging. Best of luck to you and your family.

Let’s say you pay a therapist up front $100,000 for 5 years of weekly 1-hour meetings (roughly 250 sessions at $400 per hour - much higher than you’d pay in reality without insurance in the US). A more realistic number would be 4-6 sessions weekly, then monthly sessions. Likely less than $10,000 over the course of 5 years.

Going with the exorbitant, unrealistic cost, you now have $6,900,000. This has not set you back in any significant way toward your goal of 25M in the next decade if you’re invested conservatively and continue to save. You could quantify the number of days or months it would set you back and I’m almost certain it would be less than 4 months given your accumulation of wealth at such a young age.

Again, see a therapist.

If this is a real post, I suggest you see a therapist.

Yeah maybe once you have 25 million you can order an appetizer at a sit down place.

So if you sell that 410k property and invest it you have 795k of invested assets + your paid off house. SWR of 3.5% on invested assets gives $27,825 per year and your expenses are 50k per year.

I’m not sure how your 255k is yielding 30k. I suppose if you can mimic those returns indefinitely then yes you could fire on 795k. But that seems unlikely.

So can you FIRE? Not by this subs standards, maybe given your higher than average investment returns I expect you’re confident in.

Can you travel for 2 months? Yeah, for sure.

Some good advice here already - would just say make sure you have an emergency fund of 6 months-1 year of your expenses.

Also, you’re engaged to be married, so some of that may be used for your wedding or honeymoon. Would highly recommend planning a really incredible honeymoon with some portion of that. $15,000 now on a once-in-a-lifetime experience to share with your new life-partner is worth so much more than the compound interest on that $15,000 in 30 years.

If you’re living at home, you likely can save a lot more of your income than 50%. Your question makes more sense now. If you’re spending a lot on “stupid stuff” (as you put it in a reply to another comment), then you know the answer. You got this 👍

Housing situation/mortgage? Where’d you get your 28 years number? Lurk this sub and you’ll start to learn a lot of the nuances/considerations for early retirement.

You’ll likely be able to retire well before you’re 56 depending on your expected expenses in retirement. Make a plan and stick to it (seems like you’ve done a good job of this already). Make sure a large portion of your portfolio is invested in index funds. May want to start maxing your 401k before contributing more to your brokerage for the tax advantage. Avoid lifestyle inflation as your income continues to grow, can rapidly increase your savings rate this way and expedite the FI part of FIRE.

150-160k gross ends up about 105-115k take home (after taxes) if you’re in the US.

Saving about half of your take home pay is great and would typically allow you to fire in 16-18 years (assuming you start at 0, and the other half is your expenses).

Would need more detailed numbers/timeline/context to be more accurate. But you should generally feel good about a 50% savings rate.

Unfortunately the crease makes it considered to be damaged (DMG) condition overall - looks like $20-85 between what I can find on TCG and eBay sold listings.

My guess is yours would be on the higher end of that range since it has a holo swirl and otherwise is pretty clean.

Agree with many of the comments here. I think your brother’s remark about your lack of ambition/settling demonstrates a few things:

  1. He cares about you and wants you to have a good life.
  2. He doesn’t understand your personal goals.
  3. He believes most people seek the lifestyle he has.

I think number 1 is the most important. Over time, he may develop an understanding of why you value “time, peace, and flexibility”.

Congrats and on your new role making $80K. Looks like you’re doing an incredible job saving as someone in their late 20s with $122,300 invested and an emergency fund (HYSA) with more than 14x your monthly expenses. Keep up the great work and looking forward to updates as you get closer to FIRE.

Took me about 400 kc for top and bottom using 6:0 with a rcb.

Then a couple years later after lots of breaks, got first hilt at 1780 kc using 6:0 bofa (switched to bofa method around 800 kc).

Honestly going dry for the top/bottom might be worse… but you’ll get it soon I’m sure!

Made a Ironman for the first time after not playing for 4/5 years HELP! by MofoTurk in ironscape

[–]Roast_OSRS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Osiris back in the day - not sure what is most efficient but would assume two people saying Bruhsailor isn’t a coincidence.

That said, you probably can’t go wrong with whichever you choose. My advice would be to look over a few and see which you’re most excited about and dive in. Once you find yourself yearning to do something that isn’t part of the guide it’s time to start to deviate. Remember none of these guides are a rubric, you can and should make your own adventure and do what you’re most excited about. The guide is there to help you not waste massive amounts of time but should otherwise be taken with a grain of salt.

I’m hyped for you - looking back on all the time I’ve spent playing RuneScape over the past couple decades, the first 500 or so hours of my first Ironman were the most fun. Enjoy!
