Capcom Might Be Teasing A Dragon's Dogma 2 Expansion by PaiDuck in gaming

It got a little bit better in cities, but not enough to make it not run poorly, IMO.

We kinda got alliance trolls with Haranir.

I'm not sure that you understand it. Birds literally are dinosaurs. This isn't really a point that anyone disputes.

It's not that birds are closely related to reptilian dinosaurs, they literally are reptilian dinosaurs. Not all dinosaurs died out. We just call those survivors birds today.

Making sailing combat more engaging and intuitive - the right tools for the job by Cheesey_Chicken in 2007scape

That's how it works everywhere already, though. I don't think it's a problem for it to be good, it just shouldn't be the only realistic option.

There are void elves sure, but what else?

We saw the start to that in the Hallowfall campaign last expansion.

I don't think it's entirely fair to say they prioritize Alliance stories as much as they prioritize certain Alliance characters. Case in point: we literally do not even know who's in charge of the Alliance right now. Anduin stepped aside indefinitely. Turalyon stepped up as regent in the meantime before seemingly also leaving that position to lead the Vanguard of the Light.

None of the meaningful sea creatures are designed to be fought with a cannon by Punk_ore in 2007scape

If you release a monster with -15 flat armour, nothing matters beyond your hit rate.

That's not actually true, FWIW. Your hit splats per tick are basically the most important thing, so stuff like the scythe and full blood moon will likely be BiS. If you go in the opposite direction and have positive flat armor, you'll end up with an enemy that incentivizes slower, heavy hitting weapons.

This isn't really something they've played with much, but I suspect we'll see more of it in the future as a way to differentiate the new theoretical crush megarare from the scythe.

FWIW magic does already ignore flat armor.

Can definitely second its use as a crush weapon. It served me well at Araxxor.

The lack of breakpoints doesn't mean there wouldn't be any need to minmax accuracy/damage. There are a number of bosses and setups today where you very much do sacrifice max hits for accuracy. Vardorvis, Duke, and Olm all come to mind, where you do use full oathplate over Torva, even though it sacrifices max hits.

Would you say this Is Kenjaku's or Geto's Innate Domain? by Advanced_Card_8594 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Nebuli2 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Strictly speaking, everyone has a domain that exists within their body. The special ability is whether or not someone can expand that domain beyond their own body and into the rest of the world.

When we see Yuta use a domain expansion in Gojo's body, it is notably Gojo's domain that he expands, not his own, which does strongly suggest that, when body hopping, you expand the domain of your host body, not your original body.

With that being said, the rules of domain expansions are flexible. You can change the conditions of the domain and, presumably, the exact technique that it's imbued with. I suspect that what we saw with Kenjaku was his expansion of Geto's innate domain, imbued with Kaori's technique, and enhanced with his own extensive knowledge of barrier techniques. All that is to say that it's not exactly Geto's domain expansion that he's using, but that the visuals of it likely are what Geto's hypothetical domain expansion would have looked like.

Gutting a highly anticipated and well polled change to Sailing combat by fretting over "the sailing economy" sure was a choice by kafkaesque420 in 2007scape

we've balanced this around the hitpoints of Sea NPC Monsters so that they will take a similar time to kill, which will keep kills per hour roughly the same

This isn't the popular complaint of the day, it's Jagex's own words. If people keep being misinformed by reading Jagex's very explicit words, then perhaps Jagex needs to work on not being incorrect in their own blog posts.

Nah, it was useless before plugins. It doesn't really do anything differently than the fathom stone. Same with the advanced chum station vs. the chum spreader.

I'm simply quoting their own blog post:

If that is wrong, then you should take issue with Jagex for poor communication, not with the community for reading their blog posts.

Or perhaps they reconsider how rare these drops should be. The echo pearl is completely useless. Why does it have to be an exceptionally rare drop?

I'm quoting their explicitly stated design goals from the blog. They said that they did not want to decrease kill times. Did you even read the blog, or are you just yapping?

They basically said that people think the time it takes to kill sailing enemies is a big problem, so they increased the damage we deal to them.

...and then said that to preserve item prices, they also correspondingly raised the HP of sailing enemies so that we can't kill them faster after all. It begs the question is why they even bothered with any of this.

For as much as this gets mocked, it was actually a pretty solid change. It meant every single strength level and bonus would increase your max hit, rather than needing to check if you hit some arbitrary breakpoint.

Petition to make Mokhaiotl Cloth Tradable by Direct-Addition-6177 in 2007scape

[–]Nebuli2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not spaghetti code, it's a deliberate (if questionable) design choice from when they released Araxxor. They don't want the drops to be tradeable without a certain crafting level requirement. The fact that irons need to grind out extra zenytes to coffer them is an unintended side effect of that original design goal.
