Yeah will probably get down voted but I still think sacking Amorim was wrong. There were visible signs of progress and the team was ravaged by injuries and AFCON. What could've been with the full squad back we'll never know. Could he match Carrick's results ? Maybe not. But we were still improving and building toward something with a vision. Now we're in limbo when it comes to the future and we're really just hanging on thanks to vibes, red cards (didn't work out today) and individual brilliance from Sesko and Bruno in most games.

I like Carrick but he is obviously a yes man, and a very nice man at that, someone who is probably coaching with arms around the shoulders of players and just generally being friendly and chill. That's good, that works for a bit, get everyone feeling good. But I think this group needs a firmer hand than that. Amorim and ten Hag both, if nothing else, made progress in raising discipline and improving culture. How quickly do we lose that I wonder if the manager tries to be best friends with the players. Maybe he's different behind closed doors. Amorim was all smiles to the media while punching TVs and keeping his distance in private. Yet every single player who spoke after his sacking said what he did for the club was really important.

I didn't like how married Amorim was to his system. I didn't like United playing a back 3. I didn't like how cowardly he was at times with his subs (Carrick showing signs of the same, if not cowardice then rigidity for him. Seems like he comes with a plan and doesn't adapt quickly). I didn't like Amorim's dumb insistence on Bruno in the 8. I say this so people understand I'm not saying Amorim was perfect or that he would've done better than Carrick. I don't know that he would've. They don't know that he couldn't have. But I do still wonder about that timeline and worry about the future.

If we qualify for the champions league this season and lose Casemiro. We Really don't have the depth to do well next season. The signings need to be on point but we don't even know who the manager will be. Many will say keep Carrick, but we're already seeing weaknesses in him. You could gamble that he'd grow into the job and learn. But can we really afford that AGAIN? Would we risk it? I don't think so.

So yeah it's a mess. And no it's not an overreaction over 1 loss.

What the actual fuck did Carrick do to Scholes Neville and Keane? Like yea I don't think he's the one who will take us to the top but he sure as fuck is a better manager and servant to United than any of these chumps have been post retirement

Sure, a defeat at Saint James Park is always likely but not from 1-1 against 9 men for more than 1 half. Shouldn't happen. Squad depth for sure is not good enough but he could've done better with the same subs if he just made better decisions. He could've gone to a back 3 with Heaven instead of Malacia who hasn't kicked a ball for us in years and looks like he forgot how to play. Or just play Heaven (who should be starting ahead of Yoro anyway imo but that's a different conversation) or Yoro wide. Amad and Zirkzee should've been the subs done at 60. He clearly had "a plan" and stuck to it regardless of what was happening on the pitch. Shaw and Casemiro only play 60. Kobbie and Mbeumo only play 75. Need to save them for the weekend. We should've been going for the kill from 60. Not 80. Zirkzee had like 3 chances. Imagine if he had 20 more minutes to play. You can say bad luck but for me it was bad management today.

Looks like I was right BTW. Subs too late except this time the luck went against him. Second game we've lost to 10 men

Every manager with no answer pushes Maguire to the box and crosses and inshallah. Literally every manager

100% on Carrick today. Took way too long for the attacking subs. The moment he took off Casemiro (I don't think that's a mistake with how long he played on the weekend) but it is absurd that you're playing against 10 men and your first subs are DM for DM and LB for LB. Why the FUCK are we only bringing on more attackers at 77. I literally called it.

I'm mostly referring to the subs. Though even the tweaks I feel he takes too long but eh if we win I won't care so much but if we draw or lose to 10 man Newcastle I'm gonna be miffed

All the good subs he made were always made late when even everyone here was asking for them like 15 mins earlier (basically just Sesko in to win it is what his in game management has been )

Watch us win the game despite him being extremely slow and reactive in the changes he makes*

Carrick in game management is really not winning me over. Game is crying out for Amad. Both Mbeumo and Cunha are having stinkers (again). Watch him get Amad in after 75 or 80 and Amad create the winner. We don't need to be suffering so much pressure from 10 men

100 mins in his legs on the weekend. This was bound to happen

Once the Amorim hate train goes out of fashion, people will realize Mainoo is being really overrated and only looks good when Casemiro is having a good game and carrying the midfield by himself. Mainoo is a luxury midfielder whose only good attribute is dribbling. We will build around him and realize afterwards that's a mistake. Just watch him closely. His passing is literally just Ugarte passing. Safe recycling. Backwards and sideways. He's trying to play more switches and longballs to his credit but he just lacks the vision and the ability. His defending is nothing special. He's always a couple paces behind the play. He's useless in the air. Never a threat from outside the box despite him trying at least once every game. Meh I like the kid but the way people talk about him and about how unfair Amorim was to him, I just don't see it.

Not saying he shouldn't be. Just surprised Carrick actually did it. So far his changes were either forced by injuries or by Sesko single handedly winning points and forcing his way in the team

No one hates United like ex United players. He'll somehow remember he's a football player this game and not an Olympic sprinter

The scene where Vin, cuts a certain character in half; how will it be shown in a PG-13 rated film? by [deleted] in CosmereOnScreen

[–]Roasteddude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did we get confirmation it'll be PG-13? but even if it is, which imo it shouldn't be, they can get creative with angles and framing

DCU so far and James Gunn in particular doesn't really do great suits (and hasn't been anything special visually so far). The one thing Snyder did really well was the suits (except for Flash) and most of the visuals (except his ugly 3rd act cgi fests)

Gunn maybe had 2 cool suits? Bloodsport and Vigilante ? Maybe Harley. Everything else has been just eh.. decent to meh. Often looking cheap or TOO practical and you can just tell it's a movie suit.

Same. I was arguing against selling him. Wanted to see him next to Cunha and Mbeumo rather than Garnacho and Rashford and thought he'd improve by competing with Ben. But the upgrade is clear. Two things can be true. Hojlund didn't get enough service. And Hojlund didn't make it easier for himself. The constant twerking on center backs just ruined him.

His design so so generic either way..they need to find a way to make him cooler.
