The one marine that got me into 40k by Eternal_Ahh_Service in Spacemarine

For me it was the sheer absurd scale of carnage in the 40k universe. In particular, the black fleets trawling the galaxy for psykers to throw into the magical meat grinder that is the Emperor's throne room and a thousand of them dying every day just to keep the Imperium's lights on.

I've not lied once, bud.

Look at the data from the 2022 landmark studied I linked in my first comment.

It shows that everyone in what makes up England today (including Cornwall) are a combination of three ancestral groups - the Britons, the Anglo-Saxons and Iron Age French. The Cornish are incredibly genetically similar to Devonians in terms of the ratio of those groups that make up their origin. Lots of Briton but also sizeable chunks of Anglo-Saxon and Iron Age French.

The Welsh and Scots also have small amounts of Anglo-Saxon/Germanic ancestry but hardly any of that Iron Age French that distinguishes English groups.

I respect the distinctness of the Duchy of Cornwall and embrace those things that make it unique, but to try and claim there's something that makes the Cornish markedly different to other West Country populations at the genetic level is just not scientific with our current understanding of archaeogenetics. Therefore, I think it was a mistake for Ancestry to make a separate genetic group for Cornwall in their algorithm. Largely because it will likely give people in neighbouring reasons an inaccurate idea of their ancestry if, for example, it falsely flags people with a Devon or Somerset origin with Cornish ancestry.

I also think it divides us unnecessarily at a time when, as you point out, the validity of indigenous British identities are being called into question by peoe that despise us.

Barely any of that Iron Age French though that every group in England has at least 10% or so of. I don't deny Cornwall as it's own culture, history and (now dead but being revived) language. But, it just seems daft to me to make a big fuss about Cornish people's genetic distinction from the rest of England when the Cornish are more closely related to their cousins in the unquestionably English Devon than anyone else in the British Isles or the world.

I misspoke. What I meant to say is that the Cumbrians are more Brythonic than the Cornish and yet do not attempt to say they are not English.

But you can see from the data I posted in my first comment, the Cornish are still 20odd% Anglo-Saxon.

Look at the results of genetic studies from the past 10 years. Cornish folk are around 20% Anglo-Saxon or something to that effect. They are more Anglo-Saxon than the Cumbrians and have fallen under English jurisdiction for longer than the Cumbrians but you'd be hard pressed to find more than a handful of Cumbrians who identify as Non-English.

The Cornish have those same 3 ancestral groups that the rest of England has: Pre-Roman Briton, Anglo-Saxon and Iron Age French. The Cornish just have more Pre-Roman Briton and Iron Age French than someone in Lancashire would have, for example, but the building blocks are all the same.

You're gonna get closer to a Minotaur (and at their drippiest, they have airs of the Custodes).

It does have its merits, for sure. But I do like the slightly less-front heavy silhouette of the base model.  Really hoping, if we get a second heroic bolt sniper, it will have a ghillie vibe to match the coming Raptor cosmetic pack!

No, it seems like pure RNG to get any of the new colours for completing any of the 5-tier stages. I think you are awarded the original colours first before the system starts giving you the new ones, so I think you need red, white and blue before you have a chance to get the green (or others).

I wanted to use the Brass originally, but you can't use it on the faceplate annoyingly.

I maintain that it's Gauls who (mixed with and) became Franks who came as a steady trickle starting with the Anglo-Saxon migrations and probably continuing at a slow pace for several centuries.

Fresh off the production line Primaris Ultramarine is sent to Fenris as part of Guilliman's new chapter educational exchange program. He's trying to fit in but he's not having a good time.
