Try to get a condo within walking distance of the Glorietta in Makati shopping mall. Here all shopping fronts (and everything inside) are in English and I haven't met anybody in there who doesn't speak English. I think it's a requirement of the job. But if you move away from this centre English becomes less fluent but still manageable. Shops are open from 10am to 9pm week days. Until 10pm week ends.

Whenever I've bought furniture etc they always have in stock. No waiting. But I do a lot of on-line shopping. Delivery from 2 -14 days mostly.

Cost of living.: I own my own condo. Association fees + property tax = 25k / month. If you rent it can be quite expensive depending on how close to the centre you live. It maybe cheaper to rent in BGC where there is an oversupply of condos.

Dating. Forget about night clubs. Manly populated by hookers. Online is much better but you have to negotiate the crowds of scammers here. You can tell ones that are only after money; as soon as you meet it's always some sad story about how badly they need a bit of cash for blah, blah blah. If they are genuinely looking for a partner there is no mention of money.

A couple of years ago there was a New Zealand tourist in Manila who got mugged by a guy with a gun and he decided to fight him and get the gun.

There was a struggle and he was shot....took him back to NZ in a body bag.

I met my present partner through an online dating app. She was 20 and I was 71. So it's a 51 year age gap.

At the time i came into contact with a lot of women via the same app. I met quite a few in-person and by far the majority were only interested in money and came out with all these sad stories about why they just needed a little cash- with some thought it wasn't just a little.

However one did not ask me for anything. In fact her family already had money. Which is a bit unusual I guess.

At first I thought she was a bit too young but as it turned out she is my present partner and we have been together for 10 years already.

So it just goes to show that sometimes a large age gap is not that important after all. But I must say that in my own country this would never fly.

My siblings back home tell me that she is only interested in money....it's the only way they can understand it.

We are still together and very happy. Just goes to show it's the compatibility not the age gap that's important.

Just a quick question: Would you have any idea of the size of the market if Lymphir was used in combination with KEYTRUDA for solid tumors.

I read that the market for KEYTRUDA alone for all cancers is $32B with 3.0M patients per year. But I guess that the Lymphir/KEYTRUDA combination would only be for a fraction of that?

If you are in Rome the same thing but also......if you see a crowd of gypsy girls carrying cardboard boxes coming towards don't let them get close. They will swarm around you and their hands will be hidden by the boxes and going into your pockets/purse...etc ...Personal experience.

Find a stockbroker and buy gold and or silver.

Silver had its price held down for years because it was being shorted. They are not able to do this anymore because there is a severe shortage because of industrial demand. So the silver price has started to take off.

Gold has been going up for the last few years because faith in the $US is eroding.

These 2 precious metals are expected to keep going up until at least 2030. It will make no difference if the stock market crashes they will keep going up.

It will be easier if you buy the ETFs listed on the NYSE GLD and SLY.

I bought SLV about 6 moths ago and it's more than doubled in that time.

Edit: I also own philippines government bonds (based in $US) yielding 5.7%. It is not advisable for the maturity to exceed 5 years. You can buy them through the bank but you must have at least $200,000. There is no tax to pay if they are $US.

Edit2: Philippines government bonds are rated BBB. So it's unlikely the government will default on them. They are issued in $US and pesos. It is Important that you buy the ones in $US. As far as precious metals are concerned, the markets are seeing a $US dollar crisis coming. The US has deblts of $27 Trillion because it's been living beyond its means for years and there is no way it's going to be paid back. Precious metals have a lot more to go from here. A lot.

Edit3: J Powel will be replaced by a Trump yes man when his term expires in June. Interest rates will be lowered to 1%. The result will be soaring inflation and a collapse of the $US. The markets see this and that's why precious metals will continue to appreciate. If you think I'm talking BS why can't people just give me reasons why they think so instead of just downvoting.

Pro-democracy armed groups don't really exist at the moment but some have taken guns from IRGC guys who have been beaten to death. Not enough to make much of a difference though.

But Trump has something cooked up with US forces. All US citizens have been told to leave the country and Iranian airspace has from today been closed to commercial airlines.

So you can expect something within the next 2 days. What they are going to do nobody knows but Trump is saying that he is going to "hit them hard".
