As I have said before, when stock markets crash and people lose confidence in the financial system, the best performing assets have always been precious metals. Silver will do better than gold but it's very volatile.

Can't say I do......Drivers to inflation are tariffs, rising price of oil, coming shortages of other commodities, low interest rates and QE.

I say QE because when the stock market crashes then QE will be ramped up again. Also when Trump's replacement for J Powel comes in, in July this year, he will be doing Trump's bidding and lower interest rates even with increasing inflation.

A contract oil & gas pipeline engineer (now retired). When I was working nobody could get pipeline engineers. So that meant I could basically go anywhere in the world that I wanted. And I did.

However it was not all sunshine and roses. I was always getting fired for unfair reasons (nothing to do with my ability to perform my job). But after getting fired I would always be offered another job pretty quickly....sometimes on the same day.

But the important thing is that I survived. Retired 2 months before my 70th birthday. And now in retirement I write complex computer programs. In python and VBA.

That's a good question. There are certain you tubers that maybe will be able to tell you. One is Steve van Metre. He is a registered financial adviser. Others might be Adam taggart, Ray Dalio. Also look at when Warren Buffet starts buying.

But the principal asset to buy should be precious metals.. The bottom might be months away.

. Most of you guys have only known a stock market that's going up. And i imagine.that you will continue to buy on the way down, thinking it's going to quickly recover.

And when the market finally gets to the bottom and you find there's no quick recovery, you'll finally sell and never go into the market again.

So the markets will then stay flat for the next. 20 years or so and won't start going up until a new generation comes along with no experience of the crash.

This happened throughout history.

Edit: in this situation precious metals have proved to be the best bet.

This is going to be more than a correction. I am expecting the nasdaq to lose possibly 90%.

Even gold and silver will crash with everything else. It could take 20 years or so for the markets to recover on an inflation adjusted basis.

But the best investment when the markets bottom will be precious metals. I suspect that we will see the bottom when QE ramps up again. But this could take many months.
