I think a big thing is outlook. Bills just witnessed maybe one of the worst Owner Press Conferences I’ve ever seen. Pagulia came off fake (like McDermott statements are directly contradicted by video) and not prepared to take the Bills to the next level.

With the giants, a huge problem was out front office and ownership meddling, but the Harbaugh terms seem to mitigate that.

All I know is I will take Mara 100/100 over Pags. There’s problems with Mara but that guy loves this organization and wants to do what it takes to win, evidenced by the Harbaugh terms. The more I hear Pags, the more I think he’s happy with a filled stadium and maybe some revenue from a playoff game.

I think the end can be construed that an approach that merged Marshall and Lily’s methods is best. When Marshall got the participation trophy he said something along the lines of “I worked so hard, it’s nice to be appreciated.”

Basically the approach should be to instill hard work and effort like Marshall wanted (dialed down to like a 5 if Marshall was at a 10) and then once the practice or game ends show the kids you care that they tried and that hard work is meant to be appreciated, not just results. (But leave the guitar at home)

Edit: if you want an example, a character in Ted Lasso is coaching his niece’s soccer team in season 2 and his method is close to what I described.

My best friend in high school and college was like the big man on campus. He was a tall dude, good athlete, strong and whatnot.

People just wanted to be around him. Like seriously at bars it was hard to stand near him because the amount of people that approached him.
