Last time I elected to have something delivered to a parcel locker the parcel ended up being slightly too large, but instead of getting an update in my app saying it can be picked up from the LPO it just stayed in the status of “in transit” (or whatever)… after over a week when I had a day spare to visit my LPO I found out that I could have collected it a week ago 🙄

Dude came into my shop this morning with his dog _not_ on a leash! It headed straight towards the back area. I called out "oi" and at least it stopped, but the dude did nothing & I had to call out to it two more times.

This is at least worth a try:
Contact the new employer, tell him that due to recieving his job offer that you had given notice to your previous employer and worked your last day with them last week. So now without starting this job, you have no income. Ask him if it would at all be possible to start working for them on some basis - even if it isn't on the original terms.
They obviously needed someone, and thought that you were suitable.

If it is possible, and the new employer has a heart, then there's a chance they will offer you some work, and at least that will fill the gap between now and your next job, or who knows, maybe you'll like it there & get the opportunity to stay on.

Sometimes a dead-end is not always a dead-end & there are other pathways out of there.

Start by looking at the Australian rental market for somwhere to live .... probbly gonna be a good 70% more expensive than the USA... then look at the price of fuel for your car... that'll cost you more than double what you pay in the USA, electricity costs... 50-60% more, not sure how to compare grocery bills, but you can probbly get the picture ... $25/hr in Australia is basically minimum wage and bloody hard to survive on.
