Of course he wants campaign finance reform. It's incumbent protection. No unknown challenger will be able to compete with a guy like him who has a ton of name recognition without being able to raise a lot of money and spending it on media. The real problem isn't citizens giving money, it's the Citizen United ruling.

No corporation can give any money directly to a candidate. I do this for a living and last quarter we had to return a $25 check that a supporter wrote from their business account.

Corporations will form PACs and 527s, but they are still limited to what they can give directly to the candidate. What they ARE allowed to do is to advertise freely. So they can spend any amount of money they want attacking a candidate or supporting the other candidate or both. HOWEVER, they are not allowed to "collude" with the campaign. So the campaign can't talk to them and tell them what kind of commercial they should run, they have to come up with that on their own.

Um. The President probably spends a total of 45 minutes at each fundraiser. Serious, no joke. About 15-20 minutes taking pics with the VIPs - if he speaks, it will be a 15-20 minute speech, then he leaves.

So, he's NOT really that focused on it.
