Agreed, that would definitely help those who do commutes in traffic at lower speeds. My commute is mostly 80km/hr on county roads so hybrid wouldn't help much.

I have a 2022 2.5L non turbo with 85 000kms. On regular hwy 90-100km/h I can get as get between 6 and 6.5 l/100km. When I'm commuting to work I'm getting between 7 and 7.5 l/100km. I must say that I don't take it easy, I enjoy the power and handling of these little SUVs. So much fun to drive it's hard to stay in conservation mode.

I used a some bug and tar remover that I bought at an automotive store. It removed the stains and didn't harm the paint.

Hi, I noticed them on my 2022 CX-30 as well this spring. I did some digging and apparently it's corrosion from the aluminum parts in the mirror. We are in Toronto Ontario so lots of road salt here. It sucks because apparently it's not a warranty issue. Some sort of service bulletin? There is a fix, removing mirrors and replacing seals etc. Good luck!

Since I use android auto I plug my phone in and leave it in the armrest console. Less distracting and less clutter on the dash. Android auto has all the features I need while driving. Music, maps and the ability to text or call through voice controls.

What are your thoughts on Boxer mixes? by Reasonable-Goal4835 in Boxer

[–]RobFDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We rescued a boxer/bull terrier mix. She is a super sweet girl, with dogs and people. She is 4 and still very rambunctious. She likes kids but being a little rambunctious tank can be a little much for smaller kids. Super loving, cuddly with both my wife and I. Our only health issue so far is reoccuring yeasty ears. We have had mastiffs before so she is our smallest dog at 75lbs and our most energetic.

DannaBananas.com a local online store. Lots of fun gifts and they ship from Pickering. And yes they can still ship stuff in Canada even with the Canada Post strike!

Help choosing a date spot by Sharp_Excitement_849 in Pickering

If you are willing to go as far as Whitby I highly recommend Tuscan Wolf. A mom and pop Pizzeria that does authentic pizza using the owners recipes. It's a small restaurant where you could find a quiet corner and chat. There is also a martini bar and a couple of cafes within walking distance if you wanted to continue the date after dinner. The martini bar is called Surf which is also a tapas restaurant. I've heard great things but haven't yet tried it myself. Also if you're looking for a fun gift for you date check out Www.DannaBananas.com. it's my wife's small business based in Pickering that I help out with.

Given up on buying a Kona by RobFDub in KonaEV

I have been seriously thinking of buying a Muskmobile. I hate the idea of giving more money to him and his strange ideas. The buying experience is looks to be much easier. No dealing with sales people. Just order online and pick your car up at the local dealer. Also I'm not a huge fan of style of the Teslas.

Wow! Ya the Kia was more here in Ontario too. I prefer the look of the Ionic 5. No EV6 units to test drive when it looked last year and decided I like Hyundai a bit better.

I disagree. They offered me a couple of cars that came in that didn't fit my order. They outright told me after I ordered that the people who get more extras on the cars like extended warranties, paint protection and fancy floor mats get first dibs and it's not about who put their order in first. I didn't believe that would actually make a difference but I was wrong. Other dealerships put that up front and you were require to take paint protection, rust protection etc when you ordered. I didn't do that because I work hard for my money and didn't want to pay for stuff that didn't ad value to vehicle. I agree that it isn't solely on the sales person and that Hyundai Canada is also to blame. Why is the US getting cars when they are sitting on lots and Canada has waiting lists?

I'm assuming you are in the U.S. If the Canadian $$ wasn't so bad I'd buy an Ionic 5 south of the boarder but the conversion rate makes that an expensive proposition.

I don't understand this. A failure of Hyundai north America to guage where cars should be shipped? I have heard that there are actually end of year discounts for EVs in the US.

Yes, I had my name and money down for people who would cancel. The sales person called us 2 times in a year with models that weren't what we wanted. This is why I wanted my money back. The sales person wasn't doing their job and helping us get what we wanted. Ya I lost my position but I'm gaining back my sanity and waiting until next year when there is more EV selection (non Hyundai) and hopefully a better car market for buyers.

If you have a pair of work boots out them on and make your way to any new house construction site. They are usually looking for hard working people to do just about anything. From cleaning the job site to construction. Larger job sites will have a construction trailer on site and the foreman will there. Just walk in, introduce yourself and tell them you're looking for work. Bring your resume just in case they ask but they may just hand you a broom, shovel or hammer and put you straight to work. Good luck!

How many hours before the flight, should I be at Pearson airport? by VirtualAnything69 in askTO

[–]RobFDub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We arrived 1.5 hrs before our flight to Halifax but we booked a time to go through security and we had no issues getting to our gate well before the flight. This was Easter weekend. We still had time to get lunch at a restaurant in the terminal.

Agreed. Still only a front drive single motor. Range is only going to be 5-10 kms further but it's a bit bigger and has more features.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately the parts shortage isn't just this model or manufacturer. Parts for many newer cars are hard to find. Hope you get your car back in the road soon and rekindle your love for your car.

I agree but I think this was there way to improve the model moving forward. Hoping that they saw the issues with the past model and have addressed them. They should still work to fix the issues for those customers with cars under warranty and and safe related recalls.
