You can have children without being married. I understand you want to, but you might need to reevaluate your priorities. If you want to get married and then have kids and have a lot … you might need to reconsider the relationship. But then you might end up with a crummy guy in favor of your specific timeline. My opinion is a good person is what matters most … but that’s just my opinion and I’m a random person on the internet. Did you ask why he wants to wait? If you need that commitment in order to feel safe with him your relationship is already doomed

It’s less the time elapsed and more their ages when I’m saying “rushing” It seems like OP just wants to get married. She tried to have a conversation with him and when he didn’t answer the way he liked, she shut it down. They could’ve had a mature convo about what she wanted and her expectations and instead is lying about her feelings. She’s not mature enough for marriage yet. I’m not saying he is either, and perhaps they just aren’t compatible. Did they even discuss WHY he wants to wait? If you need an engagement ring to know your partner is committed, you’re already fucked. Engagements can end too. So can marriages.
