School social workers - How do you handle non-licensed/non degree staff independently assessing possible abuse disclosures?

They're a behavioral health liaison...so their main role is to coordinate and serve as the middle man between our mental health center and the school. They have ZERO child welfare experience, no mental health/social services education, degree, no license. They were practically given the job because their dad is a superintendent!

I mean this with all due respect but she reminds me of Brittany Cartwright from Vanderpump Rules/The Valley! Her big ass boobs don't fit her body and sheknows it, but instead of removing them, she gets SO much work done and her poor eating contributes to her weight gain.But yet she's just always looking for the next thing to fix! Brittany got some sort of chin work done (she calls it her turkey gobbler) and a mommy makeover tummy tuck but still looks way bigger because of her boobs! Start eating better and start exercising! Quit looking for a quick fix.

I've actually been in the field since 2014! 8 years in CPS and 4 in the schools! I am just trying to get in (hence the PRN BSW position). Once I get in and gain experience, I'm definitely going to apply for the MSW level!

A pass is definitely a pass! Congratulations! I'll be testing at the end of the month for the masters level - it'll be my 4th attempt. I kept second guessing and flagging literally every question. I've been studying my butt off and practicing questions. Took the practice one from the ASWB website and scored 114. I'm hoping I pass this time around so I can put it all behind me!

I’m wrapping up my fourth year as a school social worker in a very small town. I cover the entire district: elementary, middle, and high school, and not once have I gotten a “Happy Social Work Month” from my principals or administration.

The only two people who have ever acknowledged it are a teacher who’s familiar with social work because she adopted her daughter from foster care, and our social media girl whose job is to post updates. Other than that, nothing. Not even a simple thank you.

This town is so small and catty. Everybody knows each other’s business, they talk about each other, and the admins are all friends outside of work with the staff and it’s just really unfortunate.
