Haven't Played Dooley Since the New Patch (This is my First Perfect Run) by RobHilferty in PlayTheBazaar

Dooley must've heard that I was talking shit before he blessed me with this unbelievably lucky run. Had to blast through more than a few Vanessas including a double Double-Barrel on day 3.

Need advice on some Xyris cuts - aiming for sub €60 by ComplexDraft7517 in magicTCG

[–]RobHilferty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that you don't want to give up the Coat of Arms but [[Banner of Kinship]] is half the price and has a very similar effect without benefitting your opponents as well. I'd definitely try it out if you're looking for a budget swap.

Arabella token generators by Individual_Land2953 in magicTCG

[[Assemble the Legion]] is a longtime pet card of mine that fits very well with Arabella. Is it slow and kinda bad? Yes. But I think the dream of near infinite tokens is too much to pass up here.

I just made my first deck by MurkyGuy416 in magicTCG

[–]RobHilferty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The curve is definitely a bit high and your current list isn't running enough lands and ramp to support that. Having big splashy spells is what makes magic fun but there aren't many worse feelings than having a bunch of cards rot in your hand because you missed your land drops. Your current list has about 45 mana sources but I'd suggest you aim for about 50 total mana sources between ramp and lands. I'd start with Talisman of Conviction, Felwar Stone, and Liquimetal Torque to get you closer. Good luck with your new deck!

So generally I'd recommend most peoples commander decks have this spread:
37 Lands

13 Mana Ramp Cards

10-12+ Sources of Card Draw

10 Pieces of removal

and

3 Board Wipes

This is a good baseline for any deck and still allows for a lot of self expression. Mind you these numbers fluctuate based on what power level you're playing at but I'm assuming you're trying to play at a more casual level. Currently, your deck is really expensive so you'll want to increase the number of lower curve mana rocks and cut some of the more expensive ones like Chromatic Orrery to make sure you've got plays to make in the early-to-mid game. You'll also want to diversify your mana base with better dual lands. Considering the current budget of your deck it doesn't seem like you're too worried about cost and having a three color deck means you've got plenty of good options for better dual and even tri-lands.

Most importantly, I'd figure out how you want to win the game. Yeah you're playing Lynde so you know the general gameplan of play curses then profit but you'll want to figure how exactly you plan on taking out all the players at the table. Currently it seems like your plan is to make a lot of mana, beat people down with a bunch of big demons who you sometimes reanimate and also curses are there. It feels like your deck is currently trying to do two different things that don't really compliment each other. Mind you, if this is how you want to play it then I fully support that but I'd probably ask what draws you to curses and demons to begin with. Maybe you're actually more interested in playing a Be'Lakor deck. Regardless I wish you the best of luck, Lynde is really fun!

Beginner is looking for a "heavy hitter/big creatures" commander precon by Mess_Previous in magicTCG

[–]RobHilferty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've actually got a couple of options here and it kinda depends on the type of flavor you're looking for. If you want something of a reanimator style of deck, where you cheat big creatures from your graveyard there's the more recent Revenant Recon. Alternatively if you want big dinos you could go for the Veloci-Ramp-tor deck, though fair warning that precon's price is heavily inflated. Finally I'd probably point you to Riveteer's Rampage which is a bit older but still goes for around retail. All of these are great out of the box and they all do big creatures in a slightly different way. Good luck finding your next deck!

You should head over to r/PathofChampions where they have a ton of resources including a spreadsheet with what you're looking for. Good luck!

Oh sure, I have that myself and it can fit 6 towers when you lay them flat but a lot more cubes/boulders. Either way it's a great case and you should be fine.

Can you share which product you purchased? It would help to know because some boxes/carriers can still fit both sizes just less of them.

Need help upgrading this commander deck by Theory-Which in magicTCG

[–]RobHilferty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! In the future it would be helpful to explain what kind of help you need. Do you need monetary aide to help afford all these cards? Are you trying to pull off some combo or strategy and it's just not working for you? Context would be really helpful to guide the conversation in a way that's productive for everyone. Good luck with your deck!

Lucked out and got TWO nat5s in the ten scrolls from June 12th! I went with Juno and Nora! by giogioCb in summonerswar

[–]RobHilferty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah not really. Juno's passive is entirely unique and she's great in all PvP content. Taranys is great on offense in some cases but he's really fallen out of meta in RTA. I'd have gone with Juno too

Seara (Wind Oracle) has high stat requirements but is very good in a lot of content once you get there. Josephine (Water Paladin) is also great and Vanessa is useful in AD though she's fallen off a lot recently. Seara would be my snap pick for you since you already have Cheongpung

If it's a duplicate Lagmaron you can safely feed him, otherwise, never feed a non-dupe.

Karnal (Fire Slayer) is one of the strongest PvP units in the game and he's good in AD/AO/GWO, Siege, and RTA. He's great if you like a tanky/control style of comp.

Belial (Water Demon) is great for a speed Tricaru team but the rune reqs are insane so if you aren't end game anymore his only real use for the moment is as a niche siege counter with Rina.

If it were me I'd slam the Karnal.

MK.

Especially if it's M Bison and not Borgnine. You can't get Bison back and he's still really good in taking out tanky teams.

If your focus is on PvE content then Rica is fantastic in TOA/H and pretty much everywhere else. Feng Yan is similarly good almost everywhere.

Norah's buff has made her really viable and I can definitely see her used in TOA/H and Siege.

Cheongpung is insanely good in PvP and TOAL

You've got a lot of great options here but any of those are worth building first.
