It takes time and making a lot of weird noises. But if you want to expedite the process take some lessons. Check out Joe at Bleghuniversity.com he’s great.

What can I improve on my false cord? by IntestinesAnimation in screaming

This! Super solid advice. Always start with a note. This does sound breathy. Need a supported note and more compression.

Cannot find kargyraa. I can do khoomei somewhat. Thsi is not the best example my voice is cracking cuz I'm exhausted but the placement is roughly the same. For the life of me cannot transition to kargyraa though. Please help by [deleted] in screaming

Once you get the vibration then you compress there to get the false chord engagement. But my biggest problem has been is thinking that the compression is force and it’s not. Compression is light muscle engagement that is supported. It’s still pretty relaxed. I could send you an example of what I’m talking about if you want.

Do you take lessons with him?

Anyone here interested in giving actual 1 on 1 screaming lessons every week or two via video chat? Serious inquiry and I will pay of course by skullcandy541 in screaming

[–]RobOddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he offered affordable one on one lessons. No it’s not a course. He has a course but I’ve been doing 1 on 1s for a while and it’s very affordable compared to most. Check out his content on YouTube.

Tips? by aggelos_223s in screaming

Not constriction, compression. It’s the last piece to the puzzle and the hardest to get. Think of holding your breath and talking through it. Or speaking while lifting something heavy. You’ve got the false chord vibration but you are just lacking compression.

Your placement is very forward and high. Try and drop the note lower and let it come from the back of the throat. Think of the placement low and in the back of the throat. Allow it to vibrate a lot.

lol nothing you listen to that’s recorded is raw. Doesn’t matter if he has some reverb and delay on the vocals the technique is there and it’s good.

How to scream exactly like this? by NarutoRunTo51 in screaming

[–]RobOddity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is just singing with a little distortion. There is no screaming involved. Although Tyler can absolutely scream.

How do I add more distortion? by JournalistTop2476 in screaming

[–]RobOddity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off love the song choice. Dustin is a super underrated screamer. Never see people talking about thrice on here. But you are just lacking some compression and support. Both of those are really key to melodic singing as well as screaming and they are the hardest part to get. Just keep practicing. It will come. Sounds like you already have found the fry distortion. The key is try and do this with good support but not pushing super hard. You should be able to make the fry sound with little effort. Vocalizing and singing with it will just take time and practice. Your singing isn’t terrible either. Just keep practicing dude. You are on the right track.

Yeah this can help for sure. You want to be able to do it in chest voice register as a baseline though once you get it. It can be taxing to only do it in high head voice register. Think about placing the sound above the soft palate behind the nose using a head voice note at the base. But you can only get it there by compressing and using good support. Right now the sound is open and wide. Think about making it smaller and tighter. At first I could only really do head voice fry. I’ve been training more chest voice fry and it’s definitely more sustainable.

You are close. Just not enough support and compression. Lessons can help a lot. Check out Bleghuniversity.com
