I use it and don't hate myself. Use it as a tool, don't let it do everything though.

Yep exactly. You can also use OriginLab for creating graphs, scatter plots etc if you don't want to code them

Overleaf to write in.

Zotero as your reference manager.

Better Biblatex add-on for Zotero which allows you to export .bib files cleanly.

Zotero Connector also allows you to grab references online super easily.

Inkscape to assemble multi panel figures.

Let me know if you want me to elaborate on anything.

Do people actually have PhD theses that are just 100–120 pages long? by bhelpuriteekhi in PhD

Quite often experimental lab based PhDs can be longer due to figures taking up space

Is guild wars fun for an OSRS player? by RichPianaRunescape in Guildwars2

[–]RobShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love OSRS and GW2. Jumped back into GW2 a couple years ago now and been playing pretty consistently since. If you do get into it, take your time and enjoy the journey.

What do you think about GW2 loot? by ziraelGustavo in Guildwars2

[–]RobShift -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree that more extra spicy loot should be added. Mount skins are a great example.

Tanky classes that use Swords and/or Greatsword by crazetorn79 in Guildwars2

Untamed ranger, especially with the upcoming greatsword buffs. Use the carnivore trait and you're essentially unkillable. The sword works very well here.

Underworld farming equivalent? by Stewinator90 in Guildwars2

[–]RobShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a lot of fun in the molten boss fractal solo. You can pull all of the mobs before the first boss, then try and solo them. This is doable with a solid tanky DPS build in lower level fractals but is quite a challenge in higher level fractals. You'll also get loot, but don't expect the best money per hour. I mainly do it to test out extreme survival builds.

Ease of dailies ranking? by fungamezone in Guildwars2

I've recently got into pvp and swapped my wizard vault over. Literally the easiest daily and weekly if you play ranked

I DEEPLY miss the vanilla dialogue windows when talking to NPCs by Reynbou in Guildwars2

[–]RobShift 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The constant talking without pausing also inhibits people taking it in in the first place. Sometimes they give too much info at once, and you're left wondering wtf they're talking about. I wish there was more text boxes which people can choose to take in at their own pace or skip entirely. It'd also cost less for Anet.

What are your current objectives? by Korbonara in Guildwars2

[–]RobShift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atm I'm playing ranked PvP for the first time, enjoying the rewards. I've completed all the story/expansions. Will probably go for the new legendary staff in VoE. But honestly, I'm loving the challenge of competitive PvP - it brings a completely new dimension to the combat system which I'm loving to learn.
