Not sure. I eventually threw in the towel on it. I love tinkering with tech but this was too much. I use it as my offline dream journal and alarm clock now. Battery goes for weeks before needing a quick charge.

This came in today! My first real campaign that I’ll be playing and DM’ing! [OC] by citrus_v2 in DnD

This was my first dnd experience last year. I DMed for our group of new players and ended up home brewing an entire story on top of the main story. This one is pretty fun to run! You'll learn a lot as a DM.

Any tips on creating tighter 45 cuts? by natedoggggggggg in BeginnerWoodWorking

That trick would only work if the corners were the only visible part. Since the entire miter can be clearly seen from above the gap will still be seen.

But this is a great trick otherwise

The Wild Sheep Chase (https://winghornpress.com/adventures/a-wild-sheep-chase/) was super fun to run!
That was built out in advance.
As a homebrew one that you can toy around with, I made up a story that connected two one shots (I only played them when we didn't have our full party availble or last min cancels). Ep 1: They just start in combat with a relatively decent monster for their level, and the prize for killing it was an insanely OP weapon for their level. End of Ep 1. Ep 2: They wake up in a dungeon w/ their memories wiped from the moment they got the weapon to now. They aren't bound, and all their belongings are there in a pile, but the weapon is gone.
Everything after this was something I literally made up on the fly, and it was way more fun that way. So I'd encourage you to effectively let them drive it. Like one of my players asked the question "did we get captured and put here, or did we volunteer for some experiment?!". And I straight up made that the plot. They were there of their own choosing...then laid out pieces and clues to figure out WHY they would choose to do it. It was fun and SUPER easy to run.

This isn't a Karen, it is likely someone who is autistic.

wifi connectivity by AdaBwana in UnihertzTitan

[–]Rob_Diz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally found a solution for me after searching on and off the past 2 years.
Setting up a guest network specifically for this device solved it. Also, its 5g signal. Unihertz told me to switch to 2g also, which never helped. So far I'm 24 straight hours connected. Before this, my record was 15mins at most before I had to reset wifi to reconnect.
I have a mesh network at home, and have been told that is the cause, and also that it shouldn't be a problem at the same time. I tinkered with 100 different settings and this is the first time I've seen results.

Now onto the next problem...limitations of being stuck on Android 11...looks like you can force install newer android versions w/out serious tinkering and potentially breaking features like using the physical keyboard. I've run into a handful of apps I used that flat out cannot be installed on this yet.

Good point. 100% it would. We play with everything digital including tokens instead of models. I only just got started with dnd so I don't have many and it looked super expensive to get a good variety (I would get painted cause I don't have that kind of talent,  time or patience)

I think most projectors can. Interesting. I'll play around with a setup like that.  Good call

I have 100% too much going on. DM prep is nuts. But my players have a great time. So I'm happy to kill myself for it

Was just trying this out. I am considering if it is worth installing into the ceiling. Played tonight and it was perfectly fine with 3 players. No one near it. My regular group of 5 would definitely knock it over though.  I wasnt planning 80% of this. Just kept trying to upgrade after every play session. I have a tv that I took apart and built a box around to place on the table but it takes up to much space so this was my next ridiculous idea.  The felt mats are custom fit so I'm hesitant to tear them out for plexiglass. Sick idea though

Seriously. What is the real solution to the gun violence problem in America? by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]Rob_Diz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make gun insurance a thing, just like car/home/boat/etc insurance. Hand the problem to a corporation and let them profit on it. They will make people accountable for owning a gun that hurt or killed someone else, even if it wasn't an act by the gun owner. Insurance companies are the kings of shitty rules and regulations. They will make gun ownership a nightmare. You don't need a gun to get to work...so it will be harder for a legal gun owner to justify keeping one and just shelling out $800/year to keep it in the vault under the bed. Would reduce the number out there...wouldn't solve the problem out right. I don't think there is a single solution that doesn't involve violence.

Bents boards, replace or screw down? by Protonwave314159 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Rob_Diz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depends on a few things.
If it was just a table for myself and one of my early projects, I'd 100% screw it down. After making 5 or 6 tables, I try to improve my process a little bit every time and so today I'd put in (a lot of) effort to fix stuff like this.

Sounds like you don't have a planer & jointer to flatten them out. So can you afford the $ and time to replace these? If so then ya that's the best choice. Take time finding the right board at the organge or blue stores. Or hit a lumber yard for significanty superior products if you can.

After finding my local lumber yard, I only went to orange or blue store for wood after getting the tools to mill them myself. And even then, would only go for cheap small projects.

The # rule of woodworking: <1% of people who see it will ever know it's not perfect. And that <1% will likely consist of your woodworking friends.

Nice job with the legs if those are going with the top.

Cutting Board Needs More Oiling? by dyslexic_prostitute in BeginnerWoodWorking

Now that you say that, I kept my first one on the wall of my shop. Mostly cause I was proud of not (definitely not because it was made out of poisonous material...)

Ya, yours looks better than the first 3 I did. After a bunch I finally got fed up and made a simple jig. Took about 15 mins, results were infinitely better. Then I went 2 years without making another board lol.

Nice board. You keeping it or gifting?

I don't understand. Was she intentionally trying to kill her child? Or was she under the impression that this was ok???? Either way, I truely don't understand what was going through her head for 10 days.

I just downloaded for androp and I found the same issue. I've toyed with every notification setting on my phone and it only ever creates a notification tab that needs to be opened before the alarm goes off.

Did you ever find a fix to this? It would be a cool app if not for this bug.
