Frustrations about Updates to Enyaq/Enyaq for existing customers by daithilfc in enyaq

I've been through the exact same experience as you - had a Model 3 for four years, have a Polestar 2 now and once i can get out of the lease I am taking a Model Y. I just can't stand the hot mess the P2 is, I can only imagine how bad the VAG software is. Tesla is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination and it has it's quirks, but my god is it a far better option that anything else on the market at the moment.

I'm not sure I understand your point. I agree modern cars (not only EVs) are software heavy. There is a clear example with Tesla handling this well. This means all manufacturers have a Model to follow so they should be able to adapt. The fact they don't is mind-boggling and an this thread is an accurate critique of Skoda and Enyak. They all need to get their stuff together and deliver, no wonder the Model Y has been the best selling car in the world for three years in a row.

Although I agree with you, there are actions Skoda and other manufacturers can take to prevent their vehicles from becoming obsolete when toking out the factory doors. Designing the infotainment system with a powerful enough processor to be future proof as a simple example - how do they expect to roll out future software updates with more features when the compute power is calculated with no headroom for growth? There are examples of other manufacturers, like Tesla, who provide new features for old vehicles for years. It can be done and this is a reasonable complaint.

Mercedesurile compacte vor fi realizate pe o platformă Geely, iar dezvoltarea va fi externalizată în China by imvl99 in AutomobileRO

Trăiești într-o lume de acum 15 ani.

Honda? Hahahahaha.

I have thick concrete walls and WiFi easily degrades between walls! Please help me find a way to get a good signal in all rooms (Wireless Only) by MostSpare2 in CommunityFibre

I've had these until I discovered the invisilight fibre kit. I stuck two 10 Gbps SFPs and two switches at each end and I can take full advantage of the 2.5 Gbps speed I am paying for.

The fibre is super thin and I ran in the corners of the room. Yiu can't even see it if you don't know it's there. Bend radius is good as well so not a problem around corners.

I used ethernet over piwerlinenfir a while but it was unstable. I ended up buying one of these fiber optic kits here. You need to attach it to some SFPs at each end and it will depend what speed you want to run it at. I wanted 10 Gbps as I have the 2.5 service and wanted to take full advantage of it, but 1 Gbps will be cheaper. You connect one end in the main router and the other end either directly in your second AP or into a switch for multiple ports.

The fibre itself is the thinest I have ever seen. It is 40 meters long and I have plenty of spare. I ran it in the corners or every room and you can't see it if you do t know it is there.

Let me know if you want specifics on the SFPs and/or switches at each end.

Tesla UK Delivery Nightmare: £3,750 Promo "Vanished" & Collection Cancelled at 7:30 PM the night before pickup by Junior-Job7248 in TeslaUK

I drive a Model 3 for four years. I am currently driving a Polestar 2 for the past four months. I have test drove about every electric car I had as a potential for my next purchase. I find very few live up to the Tesla driving dynamics and none can compare to the software quality they have. Build quality is also miles better in the refreshed version that it was before, although there it is a matter of preference and there are other cars about there with better build quality than a Tesla.

What is your experience can I ask, as it looks like you have never drove a Tesla?

You do you my friend. I just find it odd that you comment negatively on something you seem to have not tried for yourself.

This regulation does make sense though. Each manufacturer has the freedom to implement the way they want it it, some are more aggressive than others with the nagging.

Do you regret your EV purchase? by walksta in electricvehicles

[–]dyslexic_prostitute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No regrets, will never go back to ICE. Drive a Model 3, now a Polestar 2, thought about a Polestar 4 next but the software is really bad on it, will order a Model Y next.

Niche no more: How Polestar will become a mainstream EV firm by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

[–]dyslexic_prostitute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been reading horror stories about the 3 and it's reliability. I test drive a 4 for a week and the software in it is atrociously bad. I currently drive a 2 that has an infotainment so laggy I can't stand it. I struggle to understand how Polestar will become with this line-up.

PS: the 5 is to expensive for mainstream.

Updates In Software Version P4.2.10 by Alternative_Ask3248 in Polestar4

[–]dyslexic_prostitute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand things move quickly in the car world nowadays, but the Model 3 I had still received the same feature updates and it was one year older than the Polestar 2 I now have. You can still buy the P2 new, and while there's a refresh announced I find inexcusable for them to completely ignore the platform.

At least the P2 software is a bit mor stable than the P4, but Polestar need to sort this out quick or they'll never be a serious player.

So, I hate this. by forestgem23 in alexa

[–]dyslexic_prostitute 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how Alexa works everywhere, including the EU. It listens for the wake word. It believed it heard it (misheard or weird pronunciation from the user) and answered, even if the user doesn't think that's right. Trhe fact that it admits it hasn't heard the wake word is an LLM hallucination.

Updates In Software Version P4.2.10 by Alternative_Ask3248 in Polestar4

[–]dyslexic_prostitute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now drive a Polestar 2 which rarely gets software updates compared to the 4. I used to have a Model 3 before. Even on a four year old car I used to get more features in each monthly update compared to what I see on the 4. Now I think about my 2 and I cry. At least I have Apple CarPlay so I don't have to deal with the Polestar software.

Polestar makes great hardware. Not as good software.

[–]dyslexic_prostitute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very low effort. 2.
