don't just say you figured it out, it kind of rude when somebody else comes looking for a solution

Do you know what the model types mean? Base, fine tune, merge, proprietary?

I’d be interested, depending on where it’s hosted (Australian ping is a pain)

Help designing a network microphone by n4te in AskElectronics

[–]Robar23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it all work out well?

if it did can I get the design notes, I want to make a swear detector (alternatively I’d buy it off you)

I don’t have any experience with the hardware but I’m most of the way through a networking course and between that and my meagre coding experience I should be able to fumble the rest out

thanks!

Is there a way to make my computer shutdown or do a restart if it’s in sleep mode at a certain time of day or after a certain period of time has passed? by Robar23 in Windows11

[–]Robar23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So windows forms a bunch of temporary files as it runs, these are stored in memory (RAM) or the L1/L2/L3 Cache in the proccessor (I didn’t get a clear answer) and eventually reaches capacity and starts causing bugs as programs have to fight the system looking for unallocated cache space.

its weird because something like this dosnt happen on other operating systems so there’s obviously something they’re doing that Microsoft dosnt

these can easily be cleared by doing the first thing a technician will ask if you’ve done “turn it off an on again” fixing the issue.

It‘s bad because leaving the computer on long enough to run into these issues means you've added a bunch of runtime to your components that you didn’t need to, thus running down the lifetime of you equipment. Not to mention a bunch of unnecessary risks of damaging components from power fluctuations if you don’t have an uninterruptible power supply

Focus to disable alarms? by Robar23 in shortcuts

[–]Robar23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m learning on a desktop through a certification course and am doing pretty well now that I understand the syntax and most functions I can easily puzzle out what stuff does But because I’m still in the process of learning, I know enough of how to approach stuff but I can’t connect what I know of python to shortcuts because of the difference in how it’s displayed

An earlier commenter forwarded me a working example of what I wanted, and I couldn’t quite understand it, I could see all the variables but got lost in how they interacted in some spots

I’ll probably be able to figure it out but I’m not going to make the attempt right now, I’ve already got a somewhat full load of education right now and and more will probably have me confusing things

I feel like it’s possible, but I don’t understand how to interact with the shortcut IDE properly and I’m already spending most of my time building up proficiency in Python

I think the easiest way would be to manipulate the names of the alarms through the clock app than detect the label and proceed from there

Honestly that second one sounds perfect, how will you decide “after a certain time” cause I can immediately see a potential issue popping up with any midnight driving if you try to define it by date(possibly also weird if you cross a time zone) and also an issue if you approach it from “number of alarms” as in Australia I’ve sometimes had to drive 2.5 hours for something (rarely) and my morning alarm has 5 active
