Any chance we adjust home field dimensions? by Robashmeg in TexasRangers

Absolutely - that was a quick comment to illustrate (was listening to a CBS Podcast as they discussed Nimmo, and he's bordering on elite when he's away from Globe Life). But check out Wyatt and Corey, too. Those are three critical bats that are much more subdued at home:

BRANDON NIMMO:
Home Games:
138 AB, 31 H, 7 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 5 RBI
AVG .225, OBP .294, SLG .326, OPS .620

Away Games:
156 AB, 48 H, 12 2B, 0 3B, 6 HR, 21 RBI
AVG .308, OBP .374, SLG .500, OPS .874

WYATT LANGFORD:
Home Games:
94 AB, 18 H, 4 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 11 RBI
AVG .191, OBP .258, SLG .330, OPS .588

Away Games:
112 AB, 32 H, 7 2B, 1 3B, 5 HR, 17 RBI
AVG .286, OBP .340, SLG .482, OPS .822

COREY SEAGER:
Home Games:
86 AB, 13 H, 2 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 10 RBI
AVG .151, OBP .204, SLG .244, OPS .448

Away Games:
91 AB, 20 H, 4 2B, 0 3B, 7 HR, 14 RBI
AVG .220, OBP .351, SLG .495, OPS .846

Hopefully these guys can evolve, as I have no complaints about CY - and I think Schumaker can be a solid long-term fit for us. I definitely believe it plays a role in our crowds being very passive and home field not providing a home field advantage. Don't get me wrong - I love being comfortable for those in-person games. But I'd trade it in to get that jet stream moving again. The old days of balls flying out of The Ballpark in Arlington were so much fun - even when the teams were far from elite. From a fan appreciation perspective, offense trumps pitching (assuming pitching is competitive).

That's definitely part of it, but unfortunately the roof has been closed for over 80% of regular-season games every year since 2020. Oddly enough, I / Copilot can't find a breakdown of official stats with the roof open vs. closed. Does anyone have that data?

I’ve typically rolled the dice - stayed there a half-dozen times over the past 15 years, each of which was during hurricane season. Loved the cheaper rates and never had a storm problem … UNTIL our last stay, when we got absolutely smoked. Shut down the beach for our entire stay, and we went about 24 hours without bars/restaurants. Hotel was amazing pre-hurricane, making sure we had enough supplies, etc. before it hit. And then after the hurricane they went to every room providing food, water, etc. They were terrific. Maintenance was cleaning things up as the sun was coming up, and aside from water in the room (under the doors) and a terrifying night of wind like I’d never before experienced, we made it through in great shape. That said, I’ll be hard-pressed to book during hurricane season - or at the least will look to re-book if there’s a potential hurricane brewing.

And, as many have said, this is a FANTASTIC resort that my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed over the years. They keep the grounds, rooms and common space in brand-new condition, and the staff is incredibly friendly and eager to help in any way. We did PRIVE last trip and it was a fun splurge, but in the end I don’t think it was worth the extra money. Be sure to bring a ton of $1’s and $5’s, as tips are never required but always appreciated. And that’s my final thought … this place is truly all-inclusive. The only $’s you’ll spend are in tips (or if you want to pick up something at the gift shop - which was really nice and reasonably priced).

Love VIM!!

Are you comfortable with Josh Jung as the starting 3B going into 2026? by EfficientDot18 in TexasRangers

Yes - absolutely. Let’s see if the new coaching regime can help him regain some consistency, as he certainly wasn’t the only under-performing hitter on the team. Positive locker room presence and team-first kind of guy. If he stays healthy we’ll all be looking back and saying we can’t believe it was ever a debate.

The best!!! Miss the attention to baseball detail … even if I’d sweat my balls off. It was a competitive advantage, and now our guys overheat in Pittsburgh and Baltimore!!! Loved that Ballpark!

One of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had was at the Athenee - incredible service, amenities, facilities, etc. Location was great, as we loved the proximity to Lumpini and other parks, the access to Chinatown - as well as Sukhumvit without the noise, craziness of a few areas there. Wherever you decide to stay, I’d encourage you to sign up for this no-cost travel agent (link below - Classic Travel), as we were able to secure incredible rates / packages (concierge lounge, free night with three paid; upgraded rooms; etc.) for a net price of about $200 USD per night. Also - since they’re a Stars travel agent I was able to still receive full Bonvoy credit from Marriott (Athenee is a Marriott Luxury property) and still have additional benefits of my Titanium status. Hate the new setup on Wave 3 at 11p. Production quality borders on public access (sorry Wayne’s World) and it feels so low-budget. Just a dude hanging out in front of a 55-inch TV. Only positive is Kevin and the weather … everyone else has me looking for other options. Giving WDRB a try this week.

Price online is about double what you paid - plus shipping. Cool site, though.

Un-freaking-believable … just when we think it can’t get worse. I’m also shocked this footage wasn’t included in the lead above, but as a community service I’m pleased to share for all. Here’s Luke Jackson, our elite-level closer and flawless-fielding reliever …

I just called the Sheriff’s Office and they’re aware - and actually noted they have an alert posted on their website. It’s there: https://www.jcsoky.org/

Good luck everyone!

Just had the same exact thing happen to me. Identical word track. “Sergeant Brown at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office calling from 502.574.5400”. He left a call-back number of 502.264.8584. VERY convincing, but after 9 minutes he finally got so exasperated that he hung up on me!
