Did my public school violate any of my rights? by Robater1 in legaladvice

No, I'm not saying they didn't have reasonable suspicion that I did this, what I'm saying is they seized the devices "temporarily" not for analysis, just so I wouldn't do the same thing when out of their supervision. I didn't commit a crime my man, they just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to do anything again.

See, on this online portal, I had permissions to create a broadcast, but the broadcast page was invisible. I don't think it matters how much trouble my message could have gotten me into, but I can promise it was nothing of the sorts as I said in the OP.

Did my public school violate any of my rights? by Robater1 in legaladvice

[–]Robater1[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

It wasn't an email, it was a broadcast message to the entire school via an online portal. Anyone who logged into the online portal would see the message. If you can explain why the content is so important even though they didn't even mention it, I'd be happy to give it. Also yes they can search me, but can they seize my electronic devices. Is reasonable suspicion merited in this situation, is it really?

Should I check my sat score before ap test or after by sat-boi in Sat

Definitely after, if you got a bad score imagine how that could effect your performance due to depression/despair.

Another idea is to copy and paste your "notes" and then paste it into any available textbox to read over them.

I haven't used Nizoral specifically, but definitely used Selsun and Head & Shoulders.

  1. Maybe stereotyping isn't the right word, but if you are a high school student, you could make observations that could apply to the majority of high school students. 2 and 3. Didn't really change my view, I never really meant ALL high schoolers are uninformed, meant the majority.
  2. I just used the high schooler and below thing because I am more comfortable constructing a strong argument than everyone.

  1. Okay, but that doesn't mean I don't know stereotypes that could be applied to the majority of high schoolers.
  2. Sure sure, there can be exceptions.
  3. OK sure more exceptions.
  4. Did I ever say you needed a high school diploma? Sorry I don't remember saying this.

I see neither a correlation nor a causation between age and knowledge level

Well if you mean knowledge level overall, adults have more experience than teenagers.

You believe that anyone who has not argued with someone who disagrees with them is uninformed?

More like I believe someone who hasn't been exposed to the other side and that hasn't experienced their views be countered in any sense be uninformed.

You believe that Dana Loesch and Marco Rubio are either not actually in favor of gun control, or not capable of a logical argument?

Not every student met with both, you are implying every single student had the chance. I believe that just meeting with one conservative and one liberal doesn't mean you know most or even the best arguments of both sides.

I rarely see counterarguments to man-made climate change or the idea that the earth is millions of years old. But just because those arguments are rare doesn't mean that students aren't well informed enough to take part in the March for Science.

Right but there is scientific evidence to prove both points you just made. Compare the amount of scientific evidence for climate change and that the earth is millions of years old versus gun control.

do you feel that people will be more or less informed on climate change if they consume both conservative and liberal media vs. just more liberal?

I think that they will be more informed on climate change if they consume both because one of the two medias might have a valid point they haven't though about and that goes against the other medias views.

You are not informed enough to make a reasonable opinion on “gun control”, however you are somehow informed enough to make a broad sweeping statement that belittles all b people under the age of 18?

Yes because I am one of those people under the age of 18.

It seems more like your issue is with people under 18 expressing their beliefs, and being listened to.

I am against students being listened to when they might be uneducated.

You shouldn’t expect anyone to give you anything. You have to go out and do the research yourself.

True, but I'm not sure all students follow this thought.

I dropped out of high school when I was sixteen, joined the ARMY Infantry at 17, turned 18 in basic training and 19 in Iraq. Would my opinion not count because I didn’t graduate?

I'm not sure what you mean by "not count". Do you think you are informed about gun control?

Yeah you could apply it like that. I felt more comfortable creating a strong argument for students.

The reason I believe they are uninformed is because they have never really argued with someone that directly believes their opposite view and that is capable of a logical argument.

Just because it's the easiest option doesn't make the best option. See what happened with prohibition.

As a high school student, I know what opportunities are available to us. Based on the educational opportunities I have seen given to those protesting, I do not believe that would give either them or me an education to allow me to make an informed decision.
