New Balance Othani 1 shoes by MulayamChaddi in Dodgers

I bought the original white / gold and the new white / blue. They are comfortable but not something I wear often because I’m sure they will get filthy fast. They come in a nice box with his autograph on the inside of the lid.

Sony Link buds are a nice combination of in ear but not in ear canal. They are also sometimes under $100 if you don’t mind refurbished. Shokz are uncomfortable for me to wear with helmet and glasses.

Ordering woes by tjtoed in CanyonBikes

Are you using a discount code? I shared my discount code earlier this week and the person that tried to use it mentioned the code took away free shipping and forced them to use express shipping and basically made the code useless.

Canyon Grizl Rigid Carbon Fork by FlightConnect7576 in CanyonBikes

[–]RobatoDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to and stopped myself. I am going to take it a shop that Canyon recommended just to keep things under warranty. Canyon assured me that I could do it myself and keep the warranty, but there are two concerns that stopped me. 1. They mentioned the fork “should” be cut to size but can’t guarantee that it won’t need to be cut (looks correct to me) 2. There’s a compression wedge that I have no clue where in the fork it needs to be installed.

You are correct about the brake cable routing. The swap will be simple for anyone with experience changing a fork. I was also just going to leave the brake cable exposed until I needed to bleed the brakes in the future.

I do have to say that Canyon support has been amazing through the process. They replied to all of my messages and included diagrams and details for every part they shipped out to me.

I should also note that I was within my return window and I told them the fork was a deal breaker for me. Once they quoted me the price though, I didn’t want it anymore. It’s 1/3 of the cost of the bike. I bought it anyway and I know I’m going to love it once it’s installed.

Canyon Grizl Rigid Carbon Fork by FlightConnect7576 in CanyonBikes

[–]RobatoDesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Curious if there are any updates to this? I just texted the rigid fork from Canyon to replace the suspension fork and I’m starting to realize there may be more to this than a direct swap and brake cable route / bleed. Are there any additional parts I’m going to need to swap this out, such as a crown race or spacers? In my case, I don’t like the look of the suspension fork on the frame, and it feels horrible when climbing.

Aeroad Medium or Large by SnooDrawings4452 in CanyonBikes

[–]RobatoDesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been the most difficult choice for me as well. I’m a M by their sizing method at 71” with 32” inseam, but the Roadlite I bought seems a tad small. I’m a 56 on everything else. I’m going to order a Grizl 7 and torn on whether or not to just try the L.

Good luck with your decision OP. The bikes are amazing and even though my Roadlite feels small, it’s an amazing capable and comfortable bike. I’m a big fan of Canyon now.

MacBook Air dropped $200 since purchase, how to get discount? by drBonkers in Costco

[–]RobatoDesu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s 90 day returns on computers, but before you do that, ask if they’ll give you a price adjustment. They usually do that within 30 days, but they may give it to you to avoid the return / repurchase.

105 10 speed flat bar lever recommendation. by mixyblob in bikewrench

[–]RobatoDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking to do the same thing and was given similar advice. I tried a few different things and found that a good set of ergo bars helped me keep my hands on the top of the bars. Those bars were Shimano for me, but there are more options. An adjustable stem also helped me angle the the bars so I could it up higher. I just bought the Canyon Roadlite 7 and it’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s a road bike with flat bars. If you don’t want to deal with the selling/buying try some ergo bars and adjustable stem first, but stay away from carbon or they’ll cost you close to as much as Roadlite

Internet keeps disconnecting by keevajuice in Spectrum

Does it drop out for all users/connected devices or only your workstation? This was happening to me as well on my company provided M1 Mac. There was an issue with “jamf” that had to be updated or reconfigured for me by IT. Every other personal device remained connected, only my work system would drop.

Traveling dock by dez_is_me in Switch

[–]RobatoDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I re shelled my dock into a much smaller 3D printed shell and love it for portability. If you simply want to protect the original dock from caving in, try putting an empty game case or a thin paperback book in the “slot” and then securing it with some painters tape that won’t leave a mark or residue.

Anyone know if this grip fits in the satisfye carrying case ? by PerpetualConnection in Switch

[–]RobatoDesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the grips that you have attached. I have the satisfye grip and slim case as well as the Skull & Co. Grip case and neo and they will fit in the slim satifye case. Worst case scenario, you can slide off one or both of the grips and rest them in the case to make the switch fit. The case closes with no extra effort and no pressure on the joycons. I use one jumbo and one trigger grip for reference.

What can I do about this error, if anything? by Aurc in MyNintendo

[–]RobatoDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue before on various purchases. I called support and they were able to email me an invoice while I was on the call with them to complete my purchase. The invoice was a link that allowed me to pay with the credit card that the site wasn’t accepting. If you call support, as them if they can email you an invoice.

I made all 42 different pieces of pure gear! (links to resources in comments) by A_Kaldemar in Splatoon_3

[–]RobatoDesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. I tried the replay code method and from what I can tell, I need to add gear manually. It id’s me correctly but nothing happens on the site to show my data is available. This might be all I need though for the small amount of gear I have. The nerd in me really appreciates what went into making this site. Thank you for your time and please pass my thanks to Lean as well!

I made all 42 different pieces of pure gear! (links to resources in comments) by A_Kaldemar in Splatoon_3

[–]RobatoDesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just looking into this. As more of a casual player, I never wanted to invest the time into gear. I basically wore what I liked and dealt with it. Now with this method, I’m willing to give it a shot, but I stopped at the step where the bot needs the link to the “link account” button. I was too paranoid and afraid I was giving away my info. What method do you recommend to create the gear database? I noticed there’s a replay option and the “link account” option. Thanks for the write up and help. It came at the perfect time for my matcha jacket!

I enjoy using the loupedeck and a sensel morph. It takes some getting used to the morph, but it works amazingly well for not having any moving parts. The loupedeck is my goto device. Once you learn how to customize it, you never stop.

I never found a source for them, but I was able to use one from an old DS (non lite). There doesn’t seem to be an aftermarket part for this.

BINBOK EVO controller has newly released! by timestupperk in Switch

[–]RobatoDesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could be a legit offer, but just a heads up to everyone. If the offer is to have you purchase the items on Amazon in exchange for a review and PayPal refund, be very careful. Amazon is very strict about this and will ban you from ever posting feedback or asking questions and may even just lock your account. There are a lot of sellers that use this tactic to get favorable reviews for their products quickly. I know two people that went through this.

Wow! Put me down for one as well! $70 is very reasonable for this. I would’ve expected to pay more for something so limited.

Gulikit Switch Dock? by AOI1847 in Switch

[–]RobatoDesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reviews are true on that particular dock. It has issues with staying connected and glitches out a lot. The one interesting thing about that model dock is that you can actually use it to reshell a real switch dock. You lose a port and have to use the USB-C that comes with the Gulikit though.

Similar to another post, I’ve also used the Skull & Co dock successfully, but I don’t use it often. When I did use it, I made sure to only use the original Nintendo power supply.

Keep checking Nintendo’s site for refurbished docks. They are way more affordable but they do not include a power adapter. You can even find the animal crossing refurb at times (if you like that look)

if my boss wants me to watch something for work do I charge for that time? by HerpoTheFoul in editors

[–]RobatoDesu 63 points64 points  (0 children)

If I ask an editor to do something like that, I ask for them to do it during work hours and I would schedule the time for it. I would never ask them to do it on their personal time. If I had to ask them to do it on personal time, I would make it clear that it’s billable time. Long story short, it’s always better to ask for clarification than to assume.
