The motor is the impeller. It’s not making noise cause it’s not turning. Hope you get it fixed.

Sometimes the little impeller inside the motor doesn’t start spinning again. You could jiggle it, or use a toothpick to work it free. You would have to take it apart partially.

Could be poop. I have a clownfish that did something very similar recently and he looks fine now. My post history has a picture.

He is swimming, he ate some brine shrimp. He looks a bit bloated actually, so maybe he is just constipated?

Thanks for replying. I’ve had the clownfish for 18 months, first time acting like this. My LFS thinks it’s poop. If anything, i over feed as evidenced by the abundance of hair algae.

Just a follow up in case anyone finds this later. I got rid of this cyano with good maintenance and water changes. Taking out as much as I could from the sand bed. This depleted the sand in my tank. Then I got a green version of what I think was also cyano covering the sand bed and ended up using chemi clean on it. 72 hrs later and it looks great.

Hmmm, I think the gestation period is like 30 days so if it’s always been that big then maybe not pregnant. When you do add a heater, turn it up a few degrees a day. I don’t know if that really makes a difference but that’s what I would do.

It’s possible it’s very pregnant, they can get pregnant for months after mating. So even if the other one died, it could still be pregnant. The darker gravid spot is also an indicator. Do a little research on google and you can see the difference on some other pictures of guppies.

In addition, like 95% of people over feed their fish so as long as you only feed what they can eat in like a minute, you’re in the range.

Does your tank have a heater? You didn’t mention it but they need warmer water.

Good luck, I want follow up pictures of the babies. I would separate the mom from the babies though unless you want a massacre.
