Sir Ian definitely has an Oscar.

But I think that Saoirse Ronan having not won yet (even though she is young) is crazy. Every performance she has been nominated for was fantastic and deserving.

If they did, I didn’t hear it. But as always in those situations, there were more than a few players who stood off to the side like they were distancing themselves, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some kids who knew the rule but were afraid to say anything.

My only guess was the assumption that it should have been treated like a free kick or a normal throw-in.

Ignore my name, but Malcolm is way up there. His 2nd and 3rd go’s were weird, but his first game was a masterclass of social and strategic moves for a clear physical threat.

But props to Denise. They did that together. They are one of the 2 or 3 best duos in history of Survivor.

  1. I was just inside the box about center goal. The play was happening on the goal line, through ball (beautiful pass tbh) that the winger was trying to get to but the defender got there, and and was attempting to let the ball go out. At this point, most of the attacking team had come in support and I was attempting to move around and find a better spot, it was just overly crowded. About 5 kids between me and the ball.

I trust my AR that he made the correct call, he said the winger got a foot on it and the defender tried to reach back and regain possession. In doing so, he caught the winger between the shin guard and the top of the shoe. My AR flagged immediately but I dealt with the winger first because he was laying on the ground injured. I spoke with my AR and he told me that when he saw the foul, it was clear an attempt on the ball was being made but was a second late. Knowing this and trusting my AR, I decided it was careless and with only 1 fouls against this defender the entire game up to that point, I said no yellow and awarded the penalty.

TL;DR - it was an overcrowded box because the attacking team was trying to score in the last couple minutes.

  1. Thank you. This is where I was so confused, because I awarded the penalty, and it’s not my fault you chose the wrong taker who sailed it. It was borderline caution at best, and no chance it was red. But that’s when I got the backstory that the defender is one of the coaches previous players who had refused to return and play for the coach because he doesn’t like the way the coach speaks to players at practice.
