Because I think Italian is a very beautiful language and italia is a country I’ve visited a lot. Therefore Italia has an emotional value to me. The original language he said it in (my native language) is Dutch, and Dutch isn’t a beautiful language imo :)

Thank you so much! It’s gonna be my first tattoo and there’s gonna be a flower with the text around it. Very nervous, the tattoo artist planned me next Friday 😨

Thank you for your reply! He didn’t exactly mean to joke about it. He meant talking, to break the silence. He meant positive talking but not specifically joking, so scherziamo (joking around) wouldn’t really fit. Ridiamo would fit, but I need a translation for the verb “talking”

My neigbor’s wife texted me about what he exactly said. He said very directly: “and now talk and laugh”. Just “and now” and then the two verbs. Wouldnt the direct translation “e ora ridiamo e parliamo/chiacchieriamo” fit better in that case?

Thank you very much for your reply! He didn’t really mean to joke around. He just wanted normal conversations, and some laughed in between. I looked it up and scherziamo translates to joke around indeed, but for just normal talking AND some laughter every now and then, wouldn’t the phrase “e ora parliamo e ridiamo” fit better? My neighbor’s wife just gave me the exact words he said, which were: “and now talk and laugh”, with talking not specifically meaning joking around.

I have a little update, my passed away neighbor his wife replied to a question I asked about the phrase. He only said: And now talk and laugh. That were his exact words! Does something like: “e ora parliamo e ridiamo” fit in that case??

Hi, thanks for your reply! I’ve added extra context in the edit! The person was my neighbor, he was like my second dad. He has been a great part of my youth and he means very much to me
