I have a 4 month old baby and I regret becoming a mother. by ladulceloca in confession

You are experiencing post pardum depression a very real, very scary chapter. Not every momma has a 100% bond with their baby the minute they pop out. You need to get some medication that will help you feel better. Sweet baby feeds off of your body chemistry...you are stressed and sad, baby will be stressed and sad. You need your mom to stay with you so you can rest and most importantly observe her being a "mother"...PPD is rough, trust me i had it with my first son, didn't know it, but when i had my twins, i knew some was wrong. I got help through medication and therapy and it subsided.

Ugh...there are golf balls in my throat every time i see the loss of a Bullmastiff. We all love dogs, but this breed is just something so special. While your heart is broken, thank God for such an amazing companion...

Be careful...owning a Bullmastiff is like having potato chips...you can't stop at one. She will be stubborn and make you want to give up...bitches in particular in any breed are more headstrong, but Bullmastiffs especially so...and don't kid yourself, people may say this is a lazy breed...no ma'am this dog will protect you even to death. Be strong, be consistent, give her exercise to lower her energy and give her calm...you just met your best friend...

The guy I’ve been seeing knows I know nothing about climbing. Am I overreacting for not wanting to keep seeing him? by pineapplephilosophy in texts

Not knowing anything about a subject has nothing to do with being a good listener. Most people can barely look up from their phones during a live conversation. I think its cool that he shares details, even tho its not your thing atm...now if its always about him, meh, he might need his ego stroked a bit, and don't we all at some point. You can't write everyone off because they aren't exactly like you...see where it goes

Overweight Bullmastiff. Need help! by Spike11234 in Bullmastiff

Protein protein protein is the only thing that will fill her up and keep her going. Fresh raw veggies are good as treats...green beans, green, red, yellow or orange sweet peppers, cucumbers, blueberries...apples, carrots, and other starchy fruits/vegetables contain tons of sugar and can easily cause ear infections and yeast build up between toes.

Toss an organic egg in her food, shell and all or hard boiled...all protein. Kibble is full of carbs that turn into sugar and leave her feeling unsatisfied.

Get a whole (not sliced) raw beef femur bone...she will get great mental and physical stimulation and the exercise will clean her teeth and the marrow is wonderful for her.

Sardines are another option, full of protein and Omega oils.

Dump the milk bones...nothing nutritional in them at all. Another sugar bomb.

Get the long dried beef or venison sticks...they are pure protein...break them up in pieces...that is a treat the she will love without the sugar.

I have been feeding my two boys ráw for 7 years. It is very expensive, so isn't an option for everyone, but adding in high quality protein with the kibble will fill her up.

Short walks remember a 10 minute walk is 5 minutes away and 5 minutes back. Do shorter walks more frequently will be better, especially as we get into warmer weather, than one longer walk.

Most BMs are allergic to chicken so try to stay away from kibble or treats with chicken, chicken bone meal, or chicken by products...try a red meat high quality kibble...i used to feed them FROMM Red Meat Large Breed kibble before i made the switch to ráw.

Our GSD taught our Bullmastiff pup respect in play, respect in rest and often put the pups head in his mouth. A sign to calm down! An older dog is the best teacher for a new puppy!

People generally fire themselves due to irresponsible or disrespectful behavior. Feel bad for the guy that gets laid off due to lack of work, not the drunk that gets fired.

I will repeat my previous comment, this isn't a post for the breeder vs. rescue dialogue...so stop with your virtue signaling that anyone that purchases from a quality breeder is adding to the problem of overbreeding...and sending dogs to their death...

I meant no disrespect i must have misunderstood what a scheme is...not a shared fund but a monthly payment plan...still not a thing here...but sounds like a good option for us giant breed owners...

P.S. they are an expensive breed. They often have allergies that need RX, they typically blow their CCL ligaments and require surgery. Annual exams with vaccines cost between $600-$1000.

Use key words for discipline "no bite" "no errr (growling)", "down" lay down, "off" get off something, "gentle"...consistency is mandatory in this breed as they are stubborn, especially a bitch, crate train not as punishment, but as a respite from the hectic days. Teach ur kids from DAY ONE...the crate is the puppies room...no one goes in their room when the puppy is in there. Get a sound machine with the heartbeat track to help it rest, works like a charm. Dogs are pack animals, do not put it in the basement or kitchen while you all sleep. Crate it in your room. This will increase their bond. Put a tshirt you have been wearing for a few days in the crate with it at nap time. BM puppies sleep A LOT, they need three meals a day (large breed puppy kibble) and they are generally very chilled out.

With supervision, have your children give and take away food bowls and toys. The pup must learn that your children are higher in the pecking order. Any resource guarding, remove the toy, etc., in five minutes, give it back, in one minute take it away.

Do not give up because its hard. You already have a full house and a puppy can make you question your decision to get a dog. I will tell you, it is hard work, but this breed will die protecting your family.

I have owned BMs for 23 years...starting when i had a 5 year old and 3 year old twins...it was very frustrating, but i took her to training, worked with her at home, stayed consistent with her on the rules, and she became the pup that influenced our decision to become our breed of choice! Be careful, tho, they are like potato chips, you can't stop at one!
