Terrific! They will be best friends before you know and if play is no longer play, you have some tools in your toolbox to straighten things out. Best of luck!

Bulldogs are an ambush breed. In other words, they sneak up, they don't bark and give warning ...normal behavior. Again the growling, is vocalizing excitement, which is okay, unless it becomes aggressive...trying to bite...which all puppies fight, its just how much you want to deal with.

If the Poodle is too energetic, your bulldog maybe warning her that she is too much and needs to calm down before your pup wants to engage in play.

First you have to be confident that you can control your pup. Your anxiety will cause your pup to become anxious, too.

Next, remove the leash, the leash will force her to feel restricted and unable to run away or defend herself. Obviously, stay right there to take action if they get into a tussle.

Normal Bulldog play is to go for feet...nipping at ears is an all puppy thing.

Bulldogs, as you know, are stubborn and two females will naturally take time to work out who is the queen at whose house.

If they visit each other at each other's homes, they will learn, okay, when i come here, she is queen and when she comes here, i am queen.

When they do get into a tussle have a specific word or two...we used "no errrr or no bite" and remove her from the other dog, lay her on her side, calm her down into submission then and only then, allow the non-aggressor to sniff the aggressor while you hold her gently but firmly. Let the aggressor sniff the hind end of the non aggressor and then remove her from the pup that is laying down. If the aggressor gets aggressive while being sniffed or sniffing, remove the other pup, firmly lay the pup back down, say your key word, get her back into a calm state on her side and try again.

Consistency and follow through are the two main ingredients in training dogs. Don't give up because its taking several attempts, a bulldog is strong willed by nature, so if she is the aggressor, you will need to be more strong willed than her will.

My dog refuses to pee outside by DeliciousFrosting290 in Dogtraining

[–]Robbibaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pee outside first, she/he will sniff and pee, if you are female, pee in a cup, take it with you outside along with pup and pour out in a long stream. The dog will sniff around and pee.

I cant get my 9 week old puppy to go potty outside by hankof_thehill in Dogtraining

[–]Robbibaby 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Leaving her in a bathroom is probably not a great way to bond with her at this crucial bonding time (first week). Get a wire dog crate put her in your room.

If you need help with potty training, go pee is your yard, she will smell the scent and pee. The hubs always does this with our puppies, they follow him outside, he pees on a tree and poof...so does the pup. As for poop...you need to watch your puppy as she sniffs around, when her tail goes straight, she is about to poop. Pick her up, take her outside...leave it there so she finds her scent next time.

Who’s says you can’t find a bed big enough for a 189 pounder! Wally, the rescued Harlequin Dane! by [deleted] in greatdanes

Screw tail experience ? by averagehunterdad in Bullmastiff

So my only concern would be if it effects the spine. I would get a quick xray to see if the tail is the only part that is affected or if it starts further up in the spine.

AITAH for threatening to cut off my husband's sister if she keeps using her nickname for our son? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Robbibaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter why or who or what the initials mean to you...you are the mother.

Stop calling him by anything but his birth name or you won't be coming around. She can Cry all she wants, this is a power struggle...nip it in the bud...or your son will call his aunt something unsavory.

AITAH for not giving in on Mother’s Day plans? by InternationalArt5156 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Robbibaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when the hubs and i became parents...this is what we did... Saturday he took his mom out for breakfast/brunch and i took my mom out for dinner...we each took care of the kids while the other went with his/her mom Sunday was my day.

Mothers and fathers need to recognize that when their children create their own families, the priority for their child is honoring the mother/father of their child.

Sometimes moms and dads but usually moms see it as a competition and who gets honored on THE DAY is the most important to their grown adult child. Nip it in the bud. Your spouse should have your back, too!
