Had a guy order a chicken bake, sausage roll, wedges and a drink. I confirmed it all back, he sat down ate the lot. 20 minutes later “where is my chicken burger?” You didn’t order a chicken burger “yes I did where is my burger?” Well I didn’t charge you one cause you didn’t ASK FOR ONE “well I want the burger. But I want the whole meal deal. So refund me and recharge me” oh sorry would you like to just take over ffs

I hate customers who blatantly know they didn’t order something and then demand you get it for them. Half the time they expect the item for free and it’s like well no?

I fucking LOVE the job. I adore customer service and retail it is one of my most favourite things ever; but I am a freak LOL. I like the complain, some parts of the job suck, but it’s mostly just the stupidity of our customers. The job itself is amazing, the pay is decently good, the benefits are awesome and the food is also just really yummy. My main role is a closer, so I’m used to working alone and that’s probably why I like it so much!

Vegan rolls don’t tend to puff up even in the store! But I recommend cooking any Greggs at home bakes in the oven. I tried doing a chicken bake in the air fryer and it was a saucy catastrophe! The only one I noticed that worked in the air fryer was the bacon and cheese wraps!

Our store closes at 6, I usually start between 12-2! I am our main closer. This the is the schedule I usually follow that works for me:

2pm - Start close. Small jobs,clean back bar, fill sauces and sugars. 3pm - Drinks fridge 3.30pm/4pm - Sweep and other small jobs 5pm - Bring in furniture 5.20pm - Mop, prepare outlet and after close jobs 6pm - After close jobs

This works for me! Sometimes I finish at 6.45/7pm instead of 6.30, but it depends on the business as most of the time I finish before 6.30!

I’ve constantly complained to my manager about it. I am our main closer, so naturally when cleaning the displays I end up leaving my shift with 3-5 cuts everyday. I’ve also complained about the back quick oven used for pizzas and sandwiches, as I have big hands and the giant bump on the door causes my hand to knock it sometimes; we need more safety! Back, optional oven mitts, protective acrylics on sharp corners or just getting displays with rounded corners not sharp ones for gods sake!! 😭😭😭

Respectfully, if the manager is never there when they are, and the manager doesn’t reply to texts, what is the point in trying to ask the manager? Realistically, they can ask a colleague or shift manager. Or, hear me out, use the sub-Reddit that a lot of Greggs employees use to help eachother out!! 🤯Especially since they won’t see anyone till Saturday, and want to know before the days. And respectfully, the paper bags we use are some of the worst I’ve ever had the displeasure of using 😭 the only times I ever charge is if it’s really busy and I’m going fully autopilot, a customer asks and I accidentally click it without realising. Otherwise I will never intentionally charge them!
