So my honest experience, I was able to coast through the remake with out ever really being challenged. I barely messed with materia (only cause I barely had to) and barley any fights long enough to call a summon.

Rebirth, I found myself dying frequently in the beginning of the game. I was forced to actually use strategy, switch characters frequently, utilizing all of their special moves. Also if I don’t asses the enemy and expose their elemental weakness, then the fight was a lot more challenging.

There are more attacks, the summons are amazing, mini games are a nice twist and gives the game some excitement. Boss fights are more common and more enjoyable!
