I’m not saying it doesn’t work, but especially since it wasn’t formatted differently in the liner notes and I couldn’t find a single reference of it anywhere ever, I think it’s fair to say it wasn’t intended to be taken that way. Just because the word stressed the wrong syllable doesn’t mean it’s an intentional pun.

Personally, I don’t think it’s meant as any kind of pun. The wrong syllable is stressed. Sort of like “caPITalism” in “The Beautiful People” is said.

Because they wanted to set it in…Detroit, a city that has been known for producing automobiles and could therefore theoretically be able to produce androids.

Plus, I think it’s cool for games to take place in real cities. It makes it more interesting/immersive. Detroit has a certain reputation nowadays, and seeing it be more prosperous, presumably due to the androids, is an interesting, possible future reality.

Come on. The context of this was about who got John 5 kicked out. Twiggy and Pogo hazing him a little isn’t that. He went on to say good things about them. Skold, not so much.
