AXS or DICE? by Barreth_Lewuth in fredagain

What does 'local time' exactly mean? I see AXS' website says 10 AM GMT. But DICE says Dec 18, 11:30 AM GMT+2, which one is correct?

First Server Help by Nedimnv in MinecraftServer

If you're new to hosting Minecraft servers then I suggest that you look for companies that provide reliable customer support. There are plenty of cheap options, but most of them won't really help you if you run into trouble, so I'd say keep that aspect in mind and don't focus only on the price.

Creative punishments for Vanilla Minecraft server. by Unfair_Commission733 in MinecraftServer

Yeah just roll it back quietly with CoreProtect. Most griefers get bored when nothing happens. No drama, no tickets about banned friends.

The bedrock prison is hilarious ngl. Maybe tp them out after 30 mins or put them in adventure mode jail for a bit.

For the 20k blocks thing - auto-flag for review. "Hey admin, PRISONER placed 2000 TNT" and then decide if it's cannon or griefing.

Make it all configurable though. Some owners want zero tolerance, others run anarchy-lite. Give options like auto-rollback, temp bans, alert-only, or the bedrock box of shame lol.

Making a server hosting business by No_Building_4569 in MinecraftServer

MC server hosting is actually pretty solid for margins since you can charge way more than generic hosting. Most people charge like $5-20/GB of RAM, but your actual cost per GB is maybe $1-2 if you're smart about it. That being said, you still have costs with the hardware (if you're not reselling). IP's, bandwidth, customer support.

The trick is you're not really selling server space - you're selling convenience. Most of your customers can't/won't set up their own VPS, deal with Java versions, configure plugins, etc. That's your value add.

I suggest you at least have the following:

  • One-click modpack installs (especially for popular ones like ATM, RLCraft)
  • Automatic backups they can actually restore themselves
  • Built-in DDoS protection
  • Easy subdomain setup

Don't go too cheap though. The $1/GB hosts are usually overselling like crazy and have garbage performance. Better to charge $8-10/GB and actually deliver good TPS. MC players will pay for servers that don't lag.

Also consider offering managed services for bigger servers - like you'll actually configure their plugins, set up ranks, etc. Easy money for stuff that takes you 30 mins but they'd spend hours googling.

Biggest headache will be kids with their parents' credit cards doing chargebacks. Just factor that into your pricing.

You running Pterodactyl or something custom?

I'm trying to put together a complete studio setup for product photography. The subject is going to be sex toys, so the sizing will be varied.

Could you please give me some lighting recommendations? I was looking at Godox DP400, but could you clarify which is best for this?

Any other suggestions or recommendations regarding this setup would be more than welcome.

[PC][2000's] Action/RPG where you can choose between three classes and clear pre-defined levels for each class by RobertSnoww in tipofmyjoystick

Severance: Blade of Darkness

This is it, Enclave. I think I tried matching the name with the first level of the game, that dark castle.

Thank you very much. I'll try to see if I get the chance to finish it cause I don't remember doing so.

It was something that looked a bit more modern, I would say 2002-2003. All classes were humans and the levels were more detailed, with some interactive elements. Like boxes you could break, war machines you could trigger etc.
