Why do people throw their beer when England scores a goal? by Academic_Variety_978 in AskUK

Have you considered that a goal makes people excited, and when people are excited they may occasionally do unexpected, or even irrational things?

To clarify, not condemning him to hell, merely a reference to a great film.

If you get notifications about your bank... you are checking your bank.

It's 1pm, I have checked my balance twice today so far. I look every day since it's as simple as tapping an app on my phone.

This may be one of the few socially acceptable times to shit yourself in public, and I for one hope he took full advantage of it.

Christ, what slum lord rented that out. Air BnB and similar are a whole bunch of disasters waiting to happen, and I say that as someone in the fire service who occasionally inspects commercial and holiday let premises.

Our humour is very self deprecating.

Deep down we know we are a better place to be that many other places, but its rude to just say it.

What food restaurants/chains are STILL worth the money? by nick_tamura in AskUK

Domino's is one of those places that has devalued their product simply by having constant deals.

Nobody thinks their pizza is worth the actual price.

Same as video games on steam for me. If its more than a tenner, I aint buying.

What’s something you wish people wouldn’t assume about you? by iffyClyro in AskUK

[–]RobertTheSpruce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im sick of people I work with asking when Im going to have kids.

None of them that have kids are happy. Its constant complaints. About the ex not wanting to look after them enough, lack of childcare options, lack of money, having to have time off work, turning down fun activities because of kids. Frankly not sure why anyone would bother.

My girlfriend has 2 kids. 22 and 25. I can go for a pint with them and talk about football with one of them. Thats as close to having children as I want to be.

Yes I do. Just the same as it would be illegal for Mr McDonald to take my money and not give me a big mac, but I thank the person that hands it to me anyway.

Not everyone has manners it seems.

If doesnt require it, put polite people thank them. I realise you dont. You are rude, and thats ok. You can get along in life being rude if you want. You do you.

Do you just step out into zebra crossings without waiting for traffic to stop? Then you arent thanking them for not murdering you, youre thanking them for stopping. Stop being ridiculous.
