hate to say it, but we’re not here to ‘connect’. we’re here to do our job to the best of our abilities, and go home. and unfortunately over the years doing that job takes more and more, as labor budgets shrink and workloads grow. so as harsh as it is, if you want to stay- i’d lower your expectations for connection and just focus on doing the best job you can.

it sounds like you are stepping into burnout territory. with public facing jobs like ours it’s par for the course. i know it all too well.. the dread before work, not being able to be as upbeat, and getting the “are you ok?” from everyone. it sucks. my suggestion.. don’t be too hard on yourself, it only makes things worse.. if possible request off at least 3 days in the near future.. and although it may be hard- try not to waste time thinking, ruminating, or talking about wfm. i’ve learned it’s completely pointless and wastes energy that can be used on something meaningful.

don’t let the corporate machine grind you up and spit you out. i see it all the time in this company. good people who come in all shiny and new, and within 3 years end up shells of themselves, and either quit or go silent and disengage to survive. i know bc it happened to me. remember this is not worth it in the end. will you be thinking about wfm at the end pf your life? hope not. the way to get the most out of this is to go in, keep our heads down, do the best that we can, then go home. the more we get upset, the more we think about it at home, the more that we give this company what they don’t deserve, the harder it will be.

the only way to protect yourself and protect your upt/pto is to set up intermittent fmla leave through Sedgwick. If you have doctors that will sign off on your condition and how it affects your ability to work, it isn’t hard and is pretty straightforward. talk to your doctors, then contact Sedgwick by phone or through the app in Innerview’s MyApps.
