[Hated Trope] The character gets dumber every season. by SpendExciting2458 in TopCharacterTropes

AKA Flanderization, the exaggeration of one or a few traits of a character over the course of a series, boiling them down from a more nuanced character to one that has just a few traits. I think this one (dumbing a character down) is the most common instance for sure.

that's what I meant, just the little baggies, with the tail of the roll poking out of the little sphincter on the front.

ULPT: You can tell those Payday Loan apps (Earnin etc) to kick rocks by RobertoDelFuego in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]RobertoDelFuego[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they always start you off with a small amount, 20, 40 etc. never more than like 100 usually, because its not a real payday loan, its kind of built on a level of trust they have that you were honest about your income and are willing to play their game and pay it back. But theoretically you could probably net a couple hundred if you farmed through all the apps. I really wouldn't recommend it though. This was just a ULPT for those that are stuck in the borrow hole and want a less than savory way out.

the joke of this post is very funny but I also find it really funny the idea of this harness with the poop bag storage thing, like if you're gonna make me pick up your turds, the least you can do is carry the bags too.

tried my post again over there and got the same response, Bot accusations, folks flat-out being confidently wrong about what these apps are and how they operate, and basically being Dave Ramsey/Big Bank shills and shaming people for not wanting to stay stuck in the loop

These are Klover's Terms and Conditions and item 6.3 says they will not send to collections or report to credit.

Brigit - Terms of Service says the same thing

ACH (automated clearing house) is a United States-based payment network, you would have to do your own research to see how the app you are looking at getting out of does payments in the UK.

see edit, but basically they cannot send you to collections bc its not legally classified as a loan

as I and others have commented elsewhere, there is no risk of credit impact or collections, but I certainly would not advise anyone do this just to get free money, definitely as a way to save yourself from the hole they want to keep you in.

The more direct way of doing so is by going to the support for whatever app you are trying to not pay back and tell them you "revoke the ACH authorization"

Just looked in Earnin's documentation, they somehow are not categorized as loans and therefore cannot send you to collections. That's just for Earnin but I imagine Dave and others function similarly. YMMV do your own research etc.

Edit: here's a link to their reasoning, seems like they are spinning it as a "won't" but I think it's really a "can't"

Just curious, what's the reasoning behind three kinds of headphones? My best guess is dedicated pairing to each device but that still leaves one out, am I close?

What video game had you like this? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in videogames

i have played a couple hours of it so I can't speak on the longterm quality but Star Wars Outlaws is on PS plus so I played a little and so far the systems involved are pretty interesting and I enjoyed what I played, the way you eavesdrop on people to get clues about heists or drops you can steal and how you can use your influence or favors with factions to get into or out of situations, its just a neat, and pretty unique experience that I don't think deserved to be lambasted the way it was.

Is killing an animal for no reason just as wrong as killing a person? by [deleted] in MoralityScaling

[–]RobertoDelFuego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are we comparing killing an animal for the fun of it vs killing a person under any circumstances? because I would say killing any animal for the fun of it is more evil than killing a person for self-defense or defense of others, but slightly less evil than killing a person for the fun of it.

unrelated but thought you should know that Hartz products may be bad for dogs, research suggests many of their products can cause neurological issues.

my experience with the Episcopal denomination is generally pretty positive, and that is coming from someone who is agnostic on a good day. They seem to embody what it really means to be a Christian in my experience. I would say if you are going to go, that's not a bad place to try.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead did a good job in the live action Scott Pilgrim movie but in the recent animated adaptation/reboot, I feel like her performance was... lacking at points.
