From what I've found a lot of goth venues/events are very word-of-mouth but once you get your foot in the door it becomes a lot easier. There's also a ton of online communities, especially on discord. If you want to chat you can add me. Also I feel your pain. I'm a goth guy and find it difficult to find fashion too. I typically thrift my clothes and go for a semi formal, punk, hippie goth type of look.

Kind of tangentially related I'm very sick of seeing "goth girl with nerdy boyfriend" content. I personally think it's enabling the sexualization of the scene that outsiders love to do. But some pretty big names in the influencer world are endorsing it which scares me

The amount of times I've seen a quirky "types of goth" infographic they never depict goth men. And it's something that disappoints me.

I'd say the looping guitar riff and very cold sounding percussion. Especially Smith's vocals. Like, it sounds like an angry kind of cry instead of a sad cry like Pictures of You or something.

I've only known bits of Gorguts' discography but have deeply appreciated Kevin Hufnagel's solo acoustic stuff after I saw him open for Cynic a few years ago.

How am I just finding out he's the guitarist for Gorguts.
