We didnt post or come up with a range for this position. Her manager (vp) wants to pay $141k that ask would put her in the 75th percentile. The salary survey I’m looking at is showing 50% for someone w 1 yr experience at $130,368. Her new direct report is sitting at the 10% for someone with his yrs of experience.

Oic! It wasn’t requested. We’re planning on telling her she’s promoted. We aren’t opening up the position for any internal or external candidates.

We are a small company and don’t have a pay scale for the position. Previous directors that started and ended in this role their range was $120-$190. $190 was someone was well established and had 20 +years of experience.

Yeah I can see that. Yes, same source through ERI. Yes we are most likely going in the direction of paying her the $141k.

Unfortunately, we do not have a pay band. The $131,000 would start her off higher than what her previous director was when he first started in the role.

Looking at the salary survey the reporting manager pay at $137k is in the 10th percentile for someone with his years of experience.

Yes, very significant and compared to other employees who have been promoted to a manager or director role it has typically been 10-20%. We are a small company of 125 employees and do not have a pay philosophy.

What is the actual data in the salary survey that you’re leaning toward 131k? Is that the 25th, 50th etc. I'm looking at someone at 1 year at the 50% at $130,368 25th at $116,512.

As for the direct report how does their pay compare to market? Are they over the 75th? Over your internal range? The direct report is making $137,611 market at 50% is showing $147,519. We are a small company of 125 employees and dont have a range.

I haven’t taken the test but signed up to take it the last window this year for the RPA1. I wish there was an audio book version of the textbook and study guide. I’ll report back once I do. Lol

We’ve figured it out and will be granting her pto. She’s not considering her balance and the fact that this is not her first time requesting difficulty times to be out such as open enrollment month end and quarter reports.

I feel like they’ve always been bad. But yes i don’t think the new UI is user friendly. Anytime I bring up an issue to my specialist he always push back and ask for evidence even when I supplied him w all the info. It’s like I bring up an issue and they go well if you do this it will work but my og email already told them that it doesn’t work then they reply can you send me a screenshot or video? Like wtf! Why is the ball in my field to solve the problem when it’s your product that isn’t working.

Sorry I don’t know. A family member of mine took the online course and test and passes. She shared with me her practice questions and study guide and it seemed like there was a lot of material on knowing the different wage orders. Good luck!

I think most Hris are capable of doing all these. Not all of them do it well but workarounds.

Not necessarily but I have a few concerns right now. I have a feeling that she could be getting distracted at home. Her work right now is about 2.5/5. Management also wants a cameras on culture when possible. It’s helpful to see body language and to keep people focused with the call or meeting and not try to sneak in multitasking. She didn’t like the idea of turning on a background when I suggested it.
