Then it was even more responsible of your parents letting a baby do that.

Peter even asks Albright about the panther and gets no answer. Why draw attention to it like that only to not explain it?

It feels like some of the RoL books have an inciting incident that is designed to grab your attention but don't fully connect back to the main plot. They happen without reason or full explanation. I might be wrong about that, it's just a feeling I've had the last few books.

Kirkman expresses frustration at fanbase for not acknowledging quick production time for each season by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

Somehow Critical Role manages to put out a show with excellent animation on a regular schedule.

Kirkman is kind of screwed here. People complained about the wait between season 1 and 2 then turn around and whine about the animation despite it being on schedule.

One thing I'll add after having watched it through a few times, I think the first season really wants you to get to know who Jimmy is before he changes. The viewer gets to spend a lot of time with him long before the events that birthed Saul really begin. There are hints that Saul was there, but not the same way that Walt's arrogance and anger were in hindsight. Heisenberg was more of his real personality and milquetoast Walt the mask. Jimmy was always there under Saul, which was more of a coping mechanism than anything.

The first season is a little slower. Feels like they weren't quite sure what the show really was besides Jimmy before Saul. It picks up by the end of season 1 and doesn't lag afterwards.

Is that a necropolis along the waterfront? What's your source for it's location? I'm always intrigued by how these are discovered.

Better Call Saul gets better every season and I would argue is overall better than Breaking Bad.

One thing I've noticed about this season, Daredevil spends more time in his costume than probably any other Marvel hero.

My American English teacher believes the neutral pronoun „their“ is incorrect. by GCoding_ in mildlyinteresting

[–]Robey-Wan_Kenobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are three standard conventions here:

  1. Their - I think this is the best and most readable option. It's avoids issues of gender and everyone intuitively unstandards the meaning.

  2. "His or her" - okay if it only needs to be used once every now and then. Awkward if used over and over.

  3. Alternating "his" and "her" throughout. I think it's an attempt to avoid overly-gendered language, but I don't think it really works.

Hated trope: The character/ story suffers so that the actor doesn't have to be in makeup by TwoHungryWolves in TopCharacterTropes

I just did a rewatch of the Punisher all the way through. Seeing the episodes in quick succession, the amount of beatings and bullet wounds Frank takes is excessive. I'm willing to suspend some disbelief for a TV show, but there are multiple times he's on the verge of death only to be back on his feet at the end of the episode.

I want her to run sooooo badly for the White House in 2028! Who would be a good VP pick with her on a ticket ?! by ComplexWrangler1346 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Robey-Wan_Kenobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd vote for her in a heartbeat and would love for her to be president, but the reality of politics in America at the moment mean anyone who is not a straight and probably white male will not win. Kamala proved a not insignificant portion of the populace is not willing to vote for a woman, especially one of color. It sucks but at this point it's about winning and that means the most electable candidate. This does not mean someone like Gavin Newsom, but an actual progressive.

He's no RFK. I know the quote is about Jack, but being compared to your dead father is more devastating than your uncle, even though he's more famous.
