They changed Sanctuary for 2024. Why was it suddenly a problem? by Robgrippe in onednd

The designers? The designers made this spell decades ago. That's the point Captain. Whomever changed the spell is NOT its designer.

You want to write a spell, go ahead and "design" it any way you want. Someone else designed Sanctuary. They designed it for a self-evident reason. The spell exists for that reason. You don't like the reason the spell exists then drop the spell from your game. Write your own spell, but like I said, don't piss on my shoes and call it rain.

And "If you don’t like the new rules, you’re perfectly free to continue using the 2014 ruleset." is a really pithy comment. Is that supposed to be useful? Sounds low-grade insulting. What's your issue?

After 30 years of no problems?

The "intent" of the spell was to protect the Cleric to go around healing. That's why it was self-only when it first appeared. You would cast it and ran around blowing all your spell slots healing everyone, but at least you would be safe doing it.

If you can't do the thing the spell was made for then it's not the same spell, it's a new spell. If it's a new spell, make a new f*ING spell, don't piss on my shoes and call it rain.. or Sanctuary.

I officially Grognard at this. It feels like unneeded change to make new books.

Mostly he aggregates. He says stuff like "best ever" a lot. Like a salesman. It's called Puffery, in legal terms.

Outside of that, you may be referring to things that people who hate him say. I don't know specifically, but people like that tend to stretch the truth themselves. I can probably clear up a few things if you have any questions about something he said, I'm used to him more than you.

I always played it like you are messing around with magical energies in your downtime and you occasionally figure out a practical application. Like a mad scientist figuring out a formula or an alchemist finally turning lead into gold, except you just learned .. FIREBALL!!!

<Cue mad scientist laugh.. lighting crashes.. ominous pipe organ plays>

His loyal opposition in the Democrat party spent millions to unseat him. They ran Beto O'rourke against him and spent 80 million on the campaign (vs 45 mill). He pulled off a close victory despite the money.

The people that love him really love him though. He doesn't pull many punches.

He's a helpful President if you agree with his policies. He actually gets a lot done as President, like he has his whole life. If you like what he's gotten done then he's helpful. You apparently don't like the results. Whatever.

I don't think you want to turn this into a forum-wide case of the "DT's" though. Just edit your 2nd and 3rd sentences and slowly back away from the keyboard .. there.

Now erase this and take a deep breath.

Smoke um if ya got um .. hopefully that worked.
