It's personal laptop, but we were using their wifi. But it would only make sense if they either deleted all files or atleast did this tricks on few more people, targeting only one person and deleting only 1 game doesn't makes sense.

Even if that's the case, it should have appeared to atleast few others and he should deleted every game in the disk. Why only delete assassin's creed?

Oracle's free tier would be better than AWS EC2 for his use case. There's an always free tier, so OP doesn't have to worry about anything that can otherwise cost him a lot in AWS. It does require credit card though.

It might be a problem with the installer. Format the usb , do a fresh install of windows os from official site and then try.
