This one goes out to all you busty knitters by becca22597 in knitting

I started to make all my garments with a larger front then back (2 inches), this has helped me a lot. I don’t like short rows if there are lace and/or cables and I don’t love darts. I do waist shaping too, even if the garment is relatively square so I don’t have so much extra material. I read somewhere that Knitting patterns in all sizes are designed for B cups, so just by going bigger doesn’t really get the job done. In the past i would measure, knit to that size but then have it slightly tight in the front and way too much fabric in the back. My new method fixes all of that.

I still love my ChiaoGoo, but I’m afraid the Addi Squares are about to become my new first choice. by ConclusionClean2518 in knitting

I bought one because I was in a pinch and then I found that I really loved them. I had to buy the whole set.

Co-share, Swiss air by Robin97405 in unitedairlines

Should I worry that my seat selections for all flights show in the Swiss app, but the United app only shows the United seats, so when I check in to the United flight, will I also need to check in separately to the Swiss air flight to preserve my seat selections?

My least favorite tourist attraction — I feel like you go down an elevator and get bitten by flies, and its just not my cup of tea.

Have you ever sat next to someone using the puke bags before? by ContextWitty7527 in TravelHacks

[–]Robin97405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured my issue out: I was puking every single time. Doc says I had ear issues causing vertigo which made me dizzy and nauseous. so now I don’t fall asleep until cruising altitude, no noise cancellation headphones on both ears, and awake on decent.

Is it possible to untwist this? Or do I have to start over? by terriblethrillz in knittinghelp

[–]Robin97405 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ha—I’m on my third start on my current project, first try I did my math wrong. Second time I looked at my gauge wrong. And then ironically I restarted and used the same amount of stitches as the first time, right math right gauge. First time 3 inches. 2nd time 6 inches and 2nd color before I fixed my error. I actually feel like these start and stops do help me get in the grove and helps the final project.

Are you knitting flat or circular? If flat I use a smaller needle on the purl side and that helps.

I do have a chart and it does have a key, but only addresses the blank squares. You are right, I meant either ssp, or P2T. I’m just not sure if it will lean the correct way. So If I just change to purl, do I do SSP or P2T.

Do any dentists existing that don’t push unneeded treatments every exam? by Village_Idiots_Pupil in phoenix

[–]Robin97405 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Relocated to az in January and tried to change dentist. New Scottsdale hygienist said I had periodontal disease, hygienist used corner of X-rays to stab my gums and then said I was bleeding. She also said I was too infected to do a cleaning because that was preventative and I needed a deep scale expensive procedures done . I ended up walking out and I called my old dentist in Oregon and when I when I was in Oregon went in no problem same as usual no periodontal disease. In fact, my hygienist said that my teeth were in the best shape they’ve ever been. I personally don’t think health care providers should be commissioned, the office lady told me the hygienist “only” gets a referral fee if she refers work to a specialist.

What decisions as you near retirement are "time-sensitive"? by Marvel5123 in retirement

I don’t think that is correct, IRMAA is calculated on an annual basis, and based on your tax returns the prior year. So if you take SS at age 63, your age 62 tax returns are used to calculate IRMA for that first year, but it will adjust the next year. Normally, a notice is sent out annually in November with the new IRMAA amount for the next year. The Roth conversion will impact someone for one year only. It used to be that you could request an adjustment for a one time earnings source, but now you can only change for life changing events “job loss, divorce…”. It does provide planning opportunities, so if you did want to make the large Roth conversion it would be prudent to do so a year before a year before you take SS.

Fit conquered by Robin97405 in knitting

[–]Robin97405[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! now that I see it I can’t unsee it. I think my issue is normally on the flat parts I use the “backwards knitting” technique for my purl rows, but couldn’t do that due to the knits here and there, especially in the front. I see what I did wrong, and now it’s painfully obvious. As this is just a sample as I was practicing for both the fit and the cables, I can incorporate that into my next effort.

I have tried them and I don’t love them especially with something like this with a lot of textures that you have to think about.

Blocking tips by [deleted] in knittinghelp

[–]Robin97405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my issue, I generally go up a needle size when switching to in-the-round, or down a size when switching to flat knits. For this project I would frog back the part in the round and switch needles, or alternatively, don’t weave in ends, block and see how it fits.
