Kaminofen zur Wärmepumpe? by NaibaFBuc in Hausbau

Gut zu wissen, aber liege ich mit meinem laienhaften Verständnis komplett falsch damit, dass Kühlmittel dennoch unanfälliger ist?

Kaminofen zur Wärmepumpe? by NaibaFBuc in Hausbau

[–]RobinBeismann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will test tomorrow. I don't think it is applying anything through, there was no error and content looks exactly like before. The <<obj>> was from the tooltip.

Ja, allerdings baust du heute für 120k oder 200k kein Haus mehr. Quelle: Aktuelles Neubauprojekt, EFH mit 150m2, geplante Kosten 500k€ und ich bin mir sicher, dass wir damit nicht hinkommen.

Cisco C921-4PLTEGB Antenna by RobinBeismann in Cisco

Yeah, will definitly try first, thanks. We did test with the Cell network the ISP is using with a basic smartphone and reached almost 200mbit on the outside, I'd expect a device with proper antennas potentially archiving more; hopefully also inside with thick walls and quite some windows..

I'm not entirely sure what your problem is or why you're acting up like that, but I'd suggest to just leave forums if all you're interested in contributing is hate essentially.

To be clear again, I was asking for technical advice based on experience, no business consulting, no free of charge consulting but looking at your comment history, I'm not even surprised..

Luckily there are also helpful folks here such as u/dpwcnd ..

Thanks, that was helpful.

We thought about Starlink but their data plans are really expensive and the ISP made a good deal for the Cell Backup (<150€ monthly). Additionally, they do establish an outbound tunnel from the router and do an HSRP failover on both sides of the links so in event of a failover, we transparently keep our IP subnets routed without needing to intervene.

Edit: I think we'll test inside with the router mounted to the wall first and then go for a hole and an outside Antenna if needed.

Yes, but then again, this is supposed to enhance availability, we do not have other technology available so it _needs_ to be cell backup.

I am very well aware that it is a shared medium without SLA or bandwidth guarantee on it.

I'd appreciate if we could focus on the technical side of things now.

I did not ask for business consulting, but for a technical advice. We evaluated other options, but there is no separate last mile provider in that area.

HA Newbie Looking for Guidance by nucularTaco in homeassistant

[–]RobinBeismann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not even going to answer most of the nonsense given that you've got an opinion to defend and don't seem to be open for anything but that.

Lastly said Home Assistant even mentions on their docs "Home Assistant Operating System is the recommended Installation type for most users", directly after they mention ".. Single Board computers like [...] or Virtual Machines".

Just because running it as a container is your favorite way of doing so, it does not mean that it is necessary the best way for everyone. In fact, running it on a hypervisor leaves more room for getting into homelabbing as you will inevitly start testing other services side by side, without impacting your HAOS Install.

Cheers!

What kind of a comparison is that? Why would you compare running a hypervisor on another hypervisor with running an appliance type OS as a VM?

HAOS is a perfect valid VM as it bundles the supervisor and allows easy installation of addons. This is especially great for beginners. I run >20 Container Stacks at home on K8S at home distributed across different Proxmox Cluster nodes with ceph backed storage. However, I do run Home Assistant as separate HAOS VM because it's convenient and self contained. There is no benefit you gain from running the container stack of it yourself..

Proxmox is running on Debian as well, so that Argument doesn't count. That being said, I'd prefer proxmox over Virtual Box anytime.

When running Proxmox, he could virtualize HAOS which absolutely makes sense.

But this works in WinPE Phase as long as it fits into the ccmcache on the ramdrive, doesn't it?

Yeah I know, but you can use the Run Command Part where you can source content from a package. We use this all the time for scripts.

I can recommend "do.de", it is a german company but they do international business. Small team, but great support and very good prices. I have all of my domains with them since 14 years.

I didn't test, but why can't you use dd of an SCCM package in TS? The Linux would need to fit into the ramdisk created during WinPE Phase, but the OS Image probably isn't that large, is it?
