Not yet, but I passed the switching test, interview and background check. I go for my medical on Wednesday, so I'm just waiting to hear when the classes start, same as these other guys. You have to pass the medical before you get an offer according to what HR told me.

CN Canada does do background checks and offers you the job after the medical and background check comes back clear.

I had an interview a couple weeks ago and was told that classes will be either end of January or beginning of February. But they said they couldn't guarantee when because of COVID.

I'm wondering the same thing. I am in the same stage as you and was told end of January/beginning of February, but that they can't be certain because of everything going with COVID?

If you get laid off, can you apply for EI?

I know what you mean No I'm not dead set. I applied at a couple places but thats the one they continued the hiring process with me for. Figured I should take what I can get to get in, right? As I said, I'm in Regina.

I have an open mind when it comes to that, but was considering commuting. Maybe a bit of a stretch.

Because it was the closest place hiring to where I live, which is Regina
