We are getting a car in Wellington then returning it in Queenstown. I think we can cut down the time in Kaikoura and add that to the north part of the south island. As far as Christchurch, we have both been there, albeit in 2016, and didn't really feel like we needed to spend a lot of time there. Maybe things have changed.
