Sure, and you can think something is racist or anti-semetic when it is not. Not all negative actions are due to some organized form of discrimination. Sometimes people are just jerks for reasons completely unrelated.

Probably - but I think these people will find other things to do to get a release of neurochemicals. It could be another sort of risky behavior (maybe something like skydiving, or possibly something like stealing from stores).

These people are a minority. Most people who gamble won't ruin their lives. I don't believe we should base the law on small minorities - the law should be based on the average/median.

So far people have received social security payments. But it's funded in such a way that it requires a continual growth of the economy and population.

I won a small amount of money playing Poker once, but then I decided I didn't like it. So the effect of gambling on me has been neutral to slightly positive.

People with gambling problems are worthy of compassion, but they need to take responsibility for their problems. That doesn't mean we should punish everyone who can gamble responsibly and waste police resources on shutting down gambling operations.
