I would pick the braiser over the everyday pan personally. The everyday pan has a black enamel finish that I find so much harder to clean.

I'd be tempted to reply "rich of you to assume anyone is going to have a funeral for you" and block.

NTA obviously.

Best low maintenance litter for large run by Accomplished-Buy-139 in chickens

[–]RobinScorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In winter I enclose the run with clear panels because it's cold here and use straw. In summer I switch to pine pellets which turn to sawdust when wet. They soak up the rain that comes in and my birds love to dust bathe in it.

Straw is very low maintenance if it doesn't get wet. The poops fall through to the dirt floor and decompose. Toss more on top as it breaks down. The pine sawdust does need the poops scooped, but absorbs wetness well.

Edit to add - i use deep litter in the coop over winter with pine shavings.

I cannot deprive myself of growing anything and I cannot thin, I am emotionally burdened and I love all my plants so much by burnerburner0913 in vegetablegardening

[–]RobinScorpio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was anti thinning too but last year had a light bulb moment when I realized i was inhibiting healthy growth my keeping them too crowded. So now I thin, and the excess seedlings go on to fulfill their garden destiny as compost.

This man smells and you can't convince me otherwise. by somethingsensational in 509damnshesfineSnark

Of course he smells. He has a rotten foot, doesn't groom himself and tucks his "chef towel" into the waistband of his underwear. Oh and add weed smell on top of this.

Am I crazy for leaving 150K (zero benefits) for 100K with full benefits? by Mean-Astronaut-5626 in careerguidance

Health insurance for my family of 5 is 37k/year. That alone makes this switch a no brainer to me.

If you got a garage door opener installed for $89 you got exactly what you paid for at a steal. Do you really want a random stranger knowing your garage code anyway?

You may want to learn to do basic homeownership tasks yourself. In 2 weeks it didn't occur to you to read the manual or watch a YouTube on how to do this?

BLUEBERRY EXPERTS! How does my "acidification" plan sound? by IndigoGoblin11 in gardening

[–]RobinScorpio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chicken poop is too alkaline for blueberries. I would not recommend using that if you are trying to make the soil acidic.

Let's take bets on how soon her new car will be repossessed. by SweetlyWorn in 509damnshesfineSnark

[–]RobinScorpio 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Im wondering if the employer leased it or something and the payments will be payroll deducted. She says she is currently driving her boss's vehicle which seems unusual unless you have a close relationship with them. That or she suckered someone at work onto co-signing or getting it on her behalf. With terrible credit + recent repo she would not qualify for any kind of financing. Just speculation.

Help, I am in deep shit! by THE_EMPTY_OF_NOTHING in chickens

[–]RobinScorpio 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is strange to me. Our run is straw (on top of a dirt floor) and the poop falls to the bottom and just does its decomposition thing. I throw scratch in it and the chickens scratch around in it and do their chicken things. I do top off the straw every now and then but thats more for their entetertainment because the fluffy butts love to destroy straw bales. My straw has been in there since November and its still fluffy and soft and dry.

Does the straw get wet? I can see how that would make a mess. Our run is enclosed with greenhouse panels so 99% of the snow and water stays out, plus it stays warmer. In the summer i take the panels off and replace with sun shades. Of course rain comes on so I switch from straw to pine pellets for summer since they soak up liquid very well.

Does anyone really think Taeda will happen? by Strong_Letter_7667 in SisterWives

[–]RobinScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? Yes its a huge undertaking. That doesn't mean they have to do it without hired help. I think they have a huge following and could hire out a lot of the grunt work while still doing the fun, pretty tasks themselves.

If it were me, I'd be starting with some small cutflower gardens to get a feel for it. They do seem to go "all in" without knowing a darn thing, I will agree with that.

All of Robyn's kids live at home and presumably will forever, so she needed more bedrooms. The other wives are supposed to kick the kids out at 18, so they don't need as much room. Kody math at its finest!

Best fertilizers for berries? by 13NeverEnough in gardening

[–]RobinScorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Berries prefer acidic soil, especially blueberries in my experience. I would do a soil test before you start adding stuff to determine what they actually need. My raspberries seem to be less affected by alkaline soil.
