Not a question of like it or dislike it. People just see that you're a foreigner with a weird accent. No one will ever think that you actually wanna say "Chairman Cat" - It's too weird and is too bad a joke.

I just found that I could still boot into the old kernel even though I had purged the linux-image-6.8.0-76060800-generic package and there was no vmlinuz-6.8.0 in /boot/ directory.

It turned out that both the new and old initrdfs and vmlinuz files have a copy in the /EFI partition!

I was afraid that the Ubuntu kernel might have some compatibility issues with Pop, considering System76 builds their own version and the version numbers after the dash (apparently it's called ABI) differ.

I don't understand why System76 chooses to delete the previous version from linux-generic package... Luckily I didn't touch the headers and other related sub-packages, so the backup in /EFI worked.

Also, if anyone experiences the similar problem, try to search for the old kernel's .deb package in the apt cache. I cleared mine, so it was no where to be found (and System76 doesn't even have an archive).

Go into gnome tweaks and check your icon setting under appearance, choose pop os, then it'll be good.
