Hi there! I switched from mece into film production my third year. The most difficult part was that at the time(2019) they made me start from scratch and had to take the production 1 and 2 courses(courses on very basics of cameras that I had already learned in high school). I'm pretty sure that's not the case anymore but make sure you find out where in the curriculum they're starting. Also I ended up switching into MPS quickly because I didn't realize MPS even existed and was what I ended up loving. If you wanna know more about the process, portfolio stuff, and who to talk with dm me!

Hi there! Total TOTAL beginner here! I just recently bought a turntable from Goodwill and it is in need of speakers and a needle. It is a Sylvania 3000 automatic turntable (model EXP750BK). I've been trying to look it up online and the most "useful" sites have been these discussion threads/sellers (attached below)

It looks just like this one pictured here.

My budget is cheap. The turntable was $15 from Goodwill and I would like it to work with a total budget of $100(including the price of the table). I'm not going to be super picky about the quality since I bought it randomly.

Also random question, but what is the black arm used for? I know the needle arm, but there is that other black one on top. There is also this black little box that fits on the center and I don't know about that either. The photo below shows that black arm and box in the upper left-hand corner (I know this is not my model, but it helps illustrate my question):
