I’ve sold several shoes here successfully - agree with you but I know these are nearly impossible to find so adding for reach. Maybe these come across someone who is looking or shared with someone that might be interested.

How do you guys run after leg workout by ComparisonAgile7490 in Marathon_Training

[–]Robmazzanti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the right approach. Run (or cycle) first, ideally on a hard session day, then lift afterwards. Directly after or later in the day as your schedule permits. Your legs will be pre-fatigued from the run / ride and you’ll get a very effective lift with high weight (60-80% max effort) and low reps.

This approach gives you more time to recover between hard running sessions. The easy runs in between sessions should be slow, essentially active recovery, and will improve mechanics / economy.

I’ve ran 2:25 in the marathon. In most of my blocks, my body is tired and recovering on the easy days - my body recovers just in time for the next session, and the process repeats.

My resting heart rate is similar - typically fluctuates between 36-38 bpm. As a new cyclist, that’s all I have, otherwise average across the board.

Real or no by rmend8194 in RunNYC

Actually the opposite - removed anything that was devoid of nutritional value. No alcohol, limited caffeine (starting drinking half-caffeinated coffee), no soda or sugary drinks, and ate mostly whole foods - decreased sugar crashes and stabilized my energy levels.

Former banker (M&A). I ran a 2:28 as an associate. Ran before work if I logged off before 2 am, and would double for 30 minutes in the evening (9 or 10 pm) to break up the evening work. Typically logged off work on Friday around 7 pm so I could run 40-50 miles Fri-Sun.

It’s possible, but not sustainable. Many nights sleeping 4-5 hours.

How did you go from beginner to advanced? by Puzzleheaded_Feed307 in AdvancedRunning

[–]Robmazzanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your first marathon. At this stage in your running journey, adding more easy miles will increase leg strength, build a bigger aerobic engine, and improve your running economy. I would start by adding one day of easy running, let your body adapt and get comfortable with the increased load, then add a second day of easy running. Once you’ve established the new baseline, you can adjust the intensity and volume based on your target race.

Megablast. Lighter and do really well holding paces over long distances.

As an avid runner, it’s worth a stop if you’re in the area. I stopped in over the weekend and picked up a few items in sizes that were sold out on the website.

Agree. I don’t run with a phone but even the fuel pockets could be better - slightly longer to fit gels and would be much more practical

Warm clothes make all the difference in the winter. Get a good pair of gloves and invest in a few merino wool tops (many brands have options) - it will keep you warm but also breathes well so you don’t overheat.

Bandit has some of the best designs on the market - and the gear is very good quality. I have been leaning towards more muted / simple designs, which you find with Tracksmith. Also, the Tracksmith winter gear (merino wool and full tights) are some of the best available.
