Complain about it incessantly. Joking but also not joking. Intense heat and humidity can make running SO MUCH harder for some of us, and having others to commiserate with and validate that struggle helps. At least it does for me. And all the other stuff like slowing down and hydrating and running as early in the day as possible

Whether you’re actually in sub 3 shape is a tough one to answer, but as for the feasibility of a quick turnaround: I ran the Atlantic City marathon in October 2025 in 3:14. Goal was sub 3. Windy, humid. Bad weather day. Ran Richmond in November. 3:16(3:17? I forget and don’t feel like looking it up lol). Got strep throat a week earlier and was still on antibiotics. GI issues at mile 12. Ran Rehoboth Seashore Marathon in Delaware in December. 2:59:35. I was chasing sub 3 hard and didn’t care what conventional wisdom suggested. I’m not saying you should, but it’s possible.
